Spy Shots: Shanghai-GM Chevrolet Spark Cross

Shanghai-GM can’t say goodbye to its old Spark. Some said production would be over soon but this machine proves otherwise. It is a cross-kind-of-a-thing with the usual cross stuff  to make it more ugly. Roofrails, check. More plastic on the bumpers, check. Dark plastic around the wheel arches, check. Roofrails, check.

Jiangling N-350 is Getting Ready, but will the world?

New spy-pictures from the Jiangling factory show how huge this new suv actually is. China didn’t get Hummer, now they make one themselves. The N-350 will get two engines: a 2.4 litre Mitsubishi petrol 4-cilinder and for farmers a Ford Duratex 2.4 litre diesel.

Last Saturday I went to the ‘10th China International Auto Accesoires Commercial Expo (CIAACE 2010)’ in the Agricultural Exhibition Center here in Beijing. This expo was mostly about boring stuff such as floor mats but there was a tuning exhibition outside. I didn’t get inside. Here one second, a Shuanghuan Noble, aka ‘Chinese Smart copy’ Spiderman-Toyota.

Spy Shots: Chery-Riich M1 3-door Minicar

Chery is working on it’s new brand Riich. That was supposed to be a kind of medium-prenium thing with some extra luxury in medium sized cars. Instead Riich now seems to switch focus to small cars, the M11 being a 4-door mini machine. This is the 3-door version, even smaller, a whopping 31 centimeter less burger.

New Car: BYD L3 Official

Yet another sedan from BYD, they can’t get enough of it and the market seems to agree, the vehicles are selling well. To sell even more BYD had a simply filosophy: make more different cars that all almost look alike. This is the new L3, to debute at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
