The FAW-Hongqi CA7200E3L is based on the Audi 100 and was powered by a Nissan 2.0 V6. The CA7200E3-series were made from 1998 until 2002. The ‘L’ in the name means it is stretched, job done by Hongqi itself, and stretched in a rather unusual way…

Shanghai VW sells over 1 million Cars in 2010

On December 26, Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co Ltd passed a new milestone – its output and sales both surpassed 1 million vehicles. The company said in a statement that successful marketing enabled such rapid and healthy development.

Its output 26 years ago was 1,700 cars in its first year. Beginning in 2004, Shanghai Volkswagen moved from product-oriented promotion to an emphasis on customers and market demands. In 2007 the company started a “proactive marketing mode” to help its dealers nationwide improve their outreach and enhance customer satisfaction.

The Geely-GLEagle GX2 is a crossthingy based on the Geely-GLEagle Panda. Two engines: a 1.3 with 86hp and a 1.5 with 102hp. Price starts at 51.800 yuan and ends at 68.500 yuan. The Greatwall Haval H5 debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April, it looked ready for the market right there but it took Greatwall another seven months to get it ready. It now is, price starts at 125.800 yuan and ends at 168.800 yuan.

Size: 4650  x1800×1745, wheelbase is 2700 and weight is 1830kg. 2WD or 4WD, 5 speed manual or auto. Engine: 2.4 petrol with 100kw and 200nm. Top speed: Greatwall doesn’t tell, it’s easy to see why not…

Beijing Auto launched the BC301Z hatchback yesterday, but there was yet another car, standing almost unnoticed in a corner. It was a sole BC301Z sedan, based on the hatched but pitched slightly more upmarket. Same engines, same underpinnings, same dash.

Beijing unveils measures to ease traffic flow

BEIJING – Traffic measures were announced for Beijing on Thursday, including sharply limiting new vehicle registration, in a major effort to tackle gridlock on the capital’s roads.

Only 240,000 vehicles, about one-third of this year’s figure, will be registered next year in Beijing, a city with a population of 19 million, said Zhou Zhengyu, deputy secretary-general of the municipal government, at a news conference. SAIC to triple capacity in Nanjing

NANJING – Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC), China’s largest carmaker, agreed on Friday to more than triple its annual production at its subsidiary in the eastern city of Nanjing to one million units within five years.

SAIC Group, a partner of Volkswagen AG and General Motors, signed a memorandum of understanding with the city government of Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, pledging to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) for the expanded production. Read more »

Production of the Beijing Auto BC301Z, formerly known as C30, started yesterday at a new factory in the city of Zhuzhou in Hunan Province, it will be listed early next yesr. The Benz B-class inspired car will compete in the small hacthback segment and costs between 50.000 and 70.000 yuan.

A Besturn B70 higher on its wheels, believed to be a test vehicle for an upcoming Besturn CUV. The front is like a B70 but the back is different, looking as if the new CUV will have a wagon-like shape. Engine is expected to be a Mazda-sourced 2.0, debut date yet unsure.

Production Beijing Auto C30 to start at December 26

The Beijing Auto C30 did not debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show as was expected, debut now likely early next year. Production will start in Beijing on December 26. The C30 is powered by Mitsubishi 1.3 and 1.5 engines, price will start around 50.000 yuan and end around 80.000.
