Infinity EX listed & priced in China

Infinity has officially listed the EX crossover on the Chinese auto market. The Infinity EX is imported, price starts at 498.000 yuan and ends at 650.000 yuan. Two cars available: the EX25 with a 2.5 V6 with 235hp and the EX35 with a 3.5 V6 with 318hp. Infinity is doing some good business in China, the Infinity FX is one of the best selling imported SUV’s in the country and the sedans find many eager buyers as well.

Spied Again: Beijing Auto Q60FB EV ‘Saab 9-3′

Beijing Auto developed an EV based on the old Saab 9-3. The EV is code named Q60FB and is part of a trial project for electric cars with the Beijing city government. First batch will be 30 cars only. The Q60FB debuted in January and was seen on a truck in March. New spy shots show the car very clearly but the actual trial project still hasn’t started.

Peugeot 508 to be listed in China in July

The Peugeot 508 is made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën joint venture, it debuted on the Shanghai Auto Show and will officially be listed to the Chinese car market in July. Engines for China: 2.0 and 2.3. The 1.6 turbo might joint later and we heard Peugeot is developing a V6 especially for the Chinese market. Chinese car buyers want big engines in big cars. Price of the 508 will start around 180.000 yuan.

Lotus to officially enter China on June 15

Lotus will officially enter the Chinese market on June 15. It will set up its own distribution channels and dealer network. Lotus got a new Chinese name: Lutesi, a sound translation of Lotus. The old Chinese name, Lianhua, is now gone because Lotus does not want to be confused with the Lianhua-brand from Chinese company Youngman which makes Proton cars for the China market. Proton is the owner of Lotus.

Some confusion remains about which cars Lotus will offer in China. Yesterday the Chinese media were all over the the Europa SE, today is seems Lotus will only offer the Elise, Exige and Evora. More on this as we know it.

Dongfeng-Yulong Luxgen7 SUV to be listed in China in August

The Luxgen 7 SUV will be listed on the Chinese auto market in August. The Luxgen 7 is powered by a 2.2 turbo with 175hp and 275nm, mated to a 5-speed tiptronic.  Luxgen is a brand from the Taiwanese Yulong Group.

The new Luxgen7 SUV is made in Taiwan by Yulong and is made in China as well by the Dongfeng-Yulong joint venture. The JV is also working on a MPV that will be listed in China early next year.

Spy Shots: new Chery QQ3 Cross

Chery has been working for ages on a successor for its best selling QQ3. Earlier we heard the new car was postponed because Chery’s board didn’t like the design.New spy shots however show the new QQ3 didn’t change much over time. Car on pics is the QQ3 Cross, one we saw earlier as well. Design of the bumper seems just sightly different compared with earlier spy shots.

Chery likely to build Subaru cars in China

Domestic carmaker Chery Automobile Co and Japan’s Fuji Heavy Industries have agreed in principle to build Subaru vehicles in China and are now seeking approval from regulators, Reuters reported recently.

The report cited sources with knowledge of the deal saying that the two companies have “agreed on the major terms and conditions” to make Subarus in the northeastern coastal city of Dalian.

121 Chevrolet Camaro’s waiting in a Storehouse in China

The Chevrolet Camaro was listed in China on April 18. This pic shows the first shipment from the US arrived on Chinese shores. 121 Camaro’s are waiting in a storehouse at the port city of Tianjin for further transport to dealers and the happy buyers. Most of the cars are in bright yellow thanks to the popularity of the Transformers movies in China.

Honda: Pre-quake production in China by August

Big news from Honda China, the highlights:

- Honda to make Fit EV in China by 2012.
- Honda to import Insight, CR-Z and Fit hybrids in China next year.
- Production of Honda’s two Chinese joint ventures on steam by August.

Honda Motor Co recently announced that its two car joint ventures in China will recover in three months to pre-earthquake production levels or even beyond. As component supplies from Japan increase, Honda’s production in China will adjust accordingly, the company said in an emailed statement.
