The new Suzuki Swift has been seen testing in China. The current Swift is made by the Chan’an-Suzuki joint venture. The car in the spy shot however does nog have the jv’s logo on the back, just ‘Suzuki’. This likely means this Swift is a made-in-Japan example brought to China for some road testing, and not a made-in-China. This again means China will have to wait a little longer for the new Swift to arrive at the dealers.

  1. “..spy shot however does nog have the jv’s logo on the back, just ‘Suzuki’.”

What’s going on with Suzuki? We read at gasgoo.com that the renewal of the joint venture with Chang’an fell through at the end of last year and that Suzuki moved out of Beijing to Shanghai. Will it be just imports from now on?

  2. A closer look reveals that gasgoo was citing disapproval of a “new” Suzuki jv, not the existing one between Chang’an and Suzuki Motor China.
