Spotted in China: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante

A very orange Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante parked on a streep near my home. Lamborghini expects China to be its biggest market this or next year. The Performante comes with a neat 562 hp and 549nm, good for a 320 kph top speed, 0-100 km is done in 3.9 seconds.

Jeep looking for Production in China

Jeep CEO Mike Manley hopes to negotiate a deal in the next several weeks that will result in Jeep production in China. Manley departed for China Wednesday to negotiate a deal with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co Ltd., a Chinese company that has a joint venture with Fiat.

BMW 1M Coupe listed & priced in China

The BMW 1M Coupe has been officially listed and priced on the China car market, it debuted a few days back at the Chengdu Auto Show. The 1M costs 598.000 yuan, that is 93.590 US dollar. High price due to high import taxes and BMW trying to earn a little extra. The 1M is powered by a twin turbo six-cylinder with 340hp and 450nm. Via: Sohu.com.

Ssangyong Korando listed & priced in China

Ssangyong is back in China with the rather good looking new Korando SUV. It will however, not be a very great success. Biggest problem: the Korando comes with a turbo diesel engine while passenger cars with diesel engines are forbidden in most Chinese cities, including in Beijing and Shanghai.

Spy Shots: Brilliance-Jinbei S30 testing in China

The Brilliance-Jinbei S30 has been delayed. Earlier we heard it would be listen in June, then July and now we hear it is postponed until October. The car on the spy pics has a round area for the logo again where the oval Jinbei-logo does not seem to fit. This has lead to speculation that the S30 will be sold under the Brilliance-brand itself and not under the Jinbei-brand.

Geely enters Saudi Arabia

China-made Geely & Geely Emgrand cars launched for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

At the unveiling ceremony of the three models in Jeddah Tuesday, Managing Director Sheikh Ali Husein Alireza said that after an in-depth study on the marketing possibilities of Geely cars in the Kingdom, they found out the cars’ sophistication, innovativeness and competitiveness augur “great future”.

Ford Ecosport SUV to debut at 2012 Beijing Auto Show
