Buick Encore SUV testing in China

The Buick Encore SUV will debut at the Detroit Auto Show next year. There will be an Opel-branded version for Europe as well. The Encore will also be made in China, by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. GM is busy testing the vehicle on Chinese roads which likely means its China-debut will be at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

Here we have the very first spy shots of a completely naked brand-new Hongqi C131. Chinese automotive press and the many fans of the brand have been waiting for this moment for a long while, and this is it. The Hongqi C131 will debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show to compete with cars such as the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-class, BMW 5-series and Volvo S80. After its debut in April production will start in late 2012.

The Chinese tin toy industry started in the early 1970′s and continued until the early 1990′s. I am a fanatic collector and will show some of my treasures on this website. Today Part 1.

When China started making tin toys they mostly copied Japanese tin toys, just like the Japanese tin toy industry started with copying British and German tin toys. Monster Bicycle from China

Here we have a very strange monster bicycle from China. ‘Bicycle’ indeed, it doesn’t have an engine, it is powered by good old fashioned human leg-power. The incredible machine resides in the great city of Jilin in Jilin province and was made by a very handy father for his son’s birthday. Infiniti to make cars in Dalian China, production starts in 2014

Infiniti will be made in China

Infiniti has long been looking for production in China. Chinese media now reports that Infiniti will start making cars in China in the great coastal city of Dalian in Liaoning province, production will start in 2014. The yet to be built factory will sit under the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. First up are the Infiniti M-series and EX-series. Via: MOP.

We saw the spy shot and now got it confirmed: the Volkswagen Golf Cabrio will come to China so car buyers can enjoy the fresh air. The Golf Cabrio will be listed on the China car market in May, price is expected to start around 300.000 yuan. Lone engine is the 1.4 TSI with 118kw and 240nm, mated to a 7-speed DSG. Via: Sohu.com.

It is December 5 1991, the first FAW-Volkswagen Jetta MK2 runs off the assembly line in the great city of Changchun in north-east Jilin province. ’000001′ is the number and indeed earlier this year the good old Jetta reached the 2-million milestone.

It is still in production today in basically the same shape but the first big facelift is expected in 2013. May the Jetta live on forever!

New spy shots of the upcoming SouEast V5 sedan. The V5 has been around for many years as a concept and is SouEast first self-designed car. All other SouEast vehicles are basically no more than rebadged Mitsubishi’s. The platform for the V5 though ain’t self developed yet, it will be based on the platform of the Mitsubishi Galant.
