The Geely Mybo was an updated and facelifted version of ‘China’s first sportscar’, the Geely Beauty Leopard. The Mybo was called Liliang in Chinese the Beauty Leopard was called Meirenbao. The Mybo got a redesigned front, new head lights, a new body kit, a new logo new rear lights and s slightly improved interior. Fake air-intake on this black example is after market.

A very lucky day in the underground parking of a shopping mall in my very own street in Beijing, here I found the great Italian race machines parked next to each other; a fine black Maserati Quatroporte and a shining white Ferrari 458 Italia.

Late last year we saw the first all-naked pics of the upcoming Hongqi C131, the successor of the Hongqi HQ3. Those pics however did not unveil the interior but today we have the first clear pics of the dash and center console. Materials all look good enough for a luxury car and there seems to sit a newly-designed Hongqi-logo on the steering wheel.

A righ-hand drive Great Wall Haval H5 SUV has been spotted testing in India. This however doesn’t mean Great Wall will officially enter the Indian car market. According to Indianautosblog.com the H5 will be imported by International Cars & Motor Ltd (ICML) and sold under their own brand name. ICML currently manufactures the Rhino, a small ‘n cheap MPV, for the Indian market.

New spy shots from the new Ssangyong Rexton SUV testing on Chinese roads. The new Rexton will debut in South Korea later this year. It will then go to India first to satisfy the new Indian owner Mahindra, it will be made in India from CKD-kits. Late this year it will be listed on the China car market as an import from South Korea.

The new JAC 43R pickup truck loox more than a little bit like the good old American Ford F150. JAC doesn’t care, they just want to have a big ‘n cheap pickup truck that will be sold on the Chinese car market and likely in Africa and South America as well. The 43R will likely debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

When getting married in China a shipload of firework is absolutely necessary. The bangs will chase the ghost away so happiness can arrive. Wedding parties in China are often sexed up by these amazing wedding-firework cars, or ‘salute cars’. They are mostly based on old Beijing-Jeeps, dressed in military style with a big ‘n scary rocket launcher on the back.

The Fiat-Chrysler group is in intense negotiations with the Guangzhou Automobile Group on a possible joint venture to produce Jeeps in China, for the Chinese market.
Fiat SpA already has established a joint venture with Guangzhou. It is putting the final touches on a new compact for China that will be based on the same architecture as the recently unveiled 2013 Dodge Dart.
New foreign auto investment rules begin in China

China has withdrawn support for foreign investment in auto manufacturing under new rules that took effect Monday, as it seeks to encourage the domestic industry in the world’s largest car market.
The guidelines — released by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Commerce Ministry on December 30 — signal an end to incentives for foreigners and discourage fresh projects in China.

A very nice Hongqi CA 7202E3 Shijixing taxi seen here parked on a street in Beijing. The Hongqi (Red Flag) CA7202 series were based on the Audi 100 that was made by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture in Changchun, Jilin Province. FAW, First Auto Works, is also the owner of the iconic Hongqi brand.
