Chang’an will launch the S101 SUV at the Beijing Auto Show, it will be listed on the China car market in Q4. But there is more to come, Chang’an is working on at least another two SUV’s which are mean for export. The two cars seem slightly bigger than the S101 and certainly look stylish.

These are the first official pics of the facelifted Citroen c-Elysee for the China car market, it will officially debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. The e-Elysee is based on the good old Citroen ZX, called Fukang in China, that was made by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture from 1994 until 2008 when its name changed to c-Elysee. Big car! The mighty Ssangyong Chairman CW700L has been listed on the China car market for 698.000 yuan. The Chairman CW700L is the long-wheelbase version of the ‘standard’ Chairman CW700.

Power comes from a 3.6 in-line six-cylinder patrol engine that was originally sourced from Mercedes-Benz for the very first Chairman in 1997. Ssangyong has been updating the engine ever since, in the CW700L it delivers 250hp and 343nm.

Chinese government bans foreign cars for state-officials

Chinese automaker shares rose, led by Dongfeng Automobile and FAW Car after the government excluded foreign brands from a preliminary list for official- vehicle purchases.

Dongfeng Automobile jumped 10 percent, the first time it climbed by the daily limit since November 2009, and traded at 3.81 yuan as of 9:46 a.m. in Shanghai. FAW gained 4.9 percent to 10.78 yuan in Shenzhen. Great Wall Motor rose 3.6 percent to 14.51 yuan, set for the highest close since its Shanghai share sale in September.

Here we have a very wild Suzuki Alto in China. Wrapped in pink, light-blue, blue and some green. We like. Wheels though are too standard and need to be sexed up urgently. Pink cars are good, here is my collection:

One new spy shots of an all-naked Beijing Auto B80VJ in China. Car on pic is the B80VJ which will be the military version, the B80v being the civilian version. It is an interesting car…

Design-wise a copy of the Mercedes-Benz G-class except for the grill which is more Jeep-like. Platform is from the Beijing Auto Qichi S12 which is basically a rebadged Jeep Cherokee that was made in China by the Beijing-Jeep joint venture. The Beijing Auto B80V will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

Ssangyong SUT-1 pickup truck testing in China

The Ssangyong SUT-1 pickup truck debuted at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September last year. One camouflages example was seen testing in China. The SUT-1 (SUT = Sport Utility Vehicle) will be listed on the Chinese car market later this year, official debut is expected at the Beijing Auto Show in April. The SUT-1 will be imported from South Korea, there are no plans yet for local production in China.

Geely and Volvo wait for approval for joint venture in China

Even though it was sold to a Chinese automaker in 2010, Volvo Cars will have to form a 50-50 joint venture with new owner Geely to meet government requirements on local production, according to a senior executive of the Swedish carmaker.

Volvo has applied as a foreign brand for permission to build cars locally, so it must meet prerequisites that include a local partner, R&D facilities and developing a new brand owned by the joint venture, said Freeman Shen, senior vice-president of Volvo Cars and chairman of Volvo’s China operations.
