These are the first teasers for the Great Wall Haval E concept, a ‘new energy’ SUV that will debut at the Beijing Auto Show. The sketches show a very stylish SUV that indicates Great Wall’s future design direction. The Haval E is powered by a hybrid drive-train with a total output of 245hp. It can switch from 4×2 to 4×4 and comes with a ‘brake energy recovery system’.
The body is interesting as well. To save wait the Haval E uses carbon fiber composite materials (GFRP) in the doors, the bonnet and other parts. The windows are made of special ‘PC Glass’, developed by Bayer AG from Germany, it reduces the weight of the windows by at least 40%. The roof has solar panels that can power the aircon and other electrical systems. No word yet on production plans…
