Hengtian Automotive has listed to new pickup trucks on the Chinese car market, the basic T1 and the slightly less basic T2. Price starts at 65.800 yuan and ends at 79.800 yuan. Hengtian is a subsidiary of CHTC Auto that was in the news last month because Dutch media reported it wanted to buy the NedCar factory in the Netherlands.
The T1’s front seems inspired by the Chevrolet Silverado and Colorado. Well, Hentian ain’t the only one copying Chevy’s, JAC loves ‘m too… There are two engines, one 2.2 liter gasoline and one 2.8 liter turbo diesel, both sourced from Izusu.

This is interesting news. We hadn’t heard about Baoding Dadi in a while and now we know why. It has been swallowed up by CHTC. That makes one more light truck maker leaving the fray and one more entering. What will this new Baoding neighbor, of Zhongxing and Great Wall, do that might be unique? Fudi, the body supplier, has to be pleased with the new business.
