New BYD F3 debuts at the Beijing Auto Show
Published on April 25, 2012 by Joey Wang

This is the new BYD F3 ‘Su Rui’, it debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The F3 has been BYD’s best-seller for many years and it even topped China’s car sales chart for a couple of months in 2010. The new F3 is design-wise slightly better than the old BYD F3 which was a copy of the old Toyota Corolla, the new F3 is a copy of the new Corolla but slightly less obvious. For BYD, we call that a huge improvement!

The F3 Su Rui, meaning ‘quick (and) sharp’, stands on a new platform and comes with a new 1.5 turbo ‘TID’ engine mated to a 6-speed DCT, a older and cheaper 1.8 will be available as well. The new F3 will be listed on the China car market in June, price will start around 100.000 yuan. Size: 4680/1765/2660, wheelbase is 2660. BYD has high hopes for the new F3 and the company can use some success, things haven’t been going exactly well lately…
