Published on April 22, 2012 by W.E. Ning

Lifan 720

This is the new Lifan 720, Lifan’s biggest car so far. The 720 will debut tomorrow at the Beijing Auto Show (we typed this same line some ten times today, hope you don’t get bored) and was seen waiting lonely at Lifan’s booth at the exhibition hall. Boring grey-black color doesn’t do the already not too exciting 720 very well… It should have been red! Red is good, red is China. The Lifan 720 will be listed on the China car market in early May, price is expected to start around 80.000 yuan.

Updated Bertone Nuccio arrives at the Beijing Auto Show

Published on April 22, 2012 by Tycho de Feijter

Bertone Nuccio

This is the updated version of the Bertone Nuccio concept car. It will debut tomorrow at the Beijing Auto Show but our spies already got some pics of the Nuccio arriving at the exhibition hall. The Nuccio debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March but that was a non-working full-scale model. Bertone however promised an updated Nuccio for the Beijing show that will be able to move under its own power. Bertone also said the Nuccio was already sold to a no-doubt wealthy buyer.

Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition launched in China

Published on April 22, 2012 by Tycho de Feijter

Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition

The Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition launched in China yesterday evening, just two days before the start of the Beijing Auto Show. The special-edition Mulsanne celebrates the British Queen Elizabeth sitting on the throne for 60 years. Bentley so will only make 60.

The very British car however was launched in China and priced immediately: 6.88 million yuan or 1.09 million USD. The Mulsanne Elisabeth II seems therefore meant more for the Chinese market and now so much for England. A good idea from Bentley, rich Chinese car buyers dig everything that smells like royalty. Now!, how special is this Bentley? Well, it is decorated all over with badges depicting… horse drawn carriages, without the horses.
