Yesterday we showed you the first pics of the all-naked Haima Yao, but there was another car parked next to it and that is the upcoming Haima V30. This is it. Another surprisingly good looking vehicle from Haima, modern, sharp and clean. The V30 will debut later this month at the Guangzhou Auto Show and will be launched at the China auto market just before the end of the year.

Price will range from 50.000 to 70.000 yuan. Chinese media say the platform is all-new, meaning there isn’t any old Mazda underneath anymore. Power will come from a 1.5 with 110hp, mated to a five-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Size: 4545/1737/1495, wheelbase is 2600.

Not too fancy, but for 50.000 yuan very good. Dials look sporty, screen on the small side, manual gearbox here.

  1. Haima is making huge progress. Fast.

OK the interior quality is still not up there with VW Group or Toyota, but the gap is certainly closing.

Exterior design is impressive. For me this vehicle looks a bit under-wheeled (wheels too small for the body) but overall a very good effort.

  2. Haima’s rolling, the way they’ve done such a good job with the Yao and V30, I can’t wait to see the new Family (here in 2014, showing at either the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show or the 2013 Guangzhou Auto Show likely) and the C2. Also, how come it seems like island nations do better? (Japan has good cars, Taiwan has a very good upstart in Luxgen, and Hainan has Haima).
