The China-made Volkswagen Golf 7 will be available with a 105hp 1.6, a 131hp 1.4 TSI, a 150hp variant of the 1.4 TSI, and with a 220hp 2.0 TSI for the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The China-made GTI is a very popular car among the young ‘n sporty, it is by far the most powerful hot hatch for the money on the Chinese auto market. The more powerful and slightly mad Volkswagen Golf R will be imported into China, to keep it exclusive and so Volkswagen can ask a lot of money for it.

  1. Finally!

Does anyone know if the GTI really will have the new 220hp motor?

And if it will be launched same time with the standard models?

Definitly the best choice regarding cost & look for this quality level and power output…

  2. @ Christian.

Chinese media say it will get the same 220hp engine as the European Golf GTI. It will likely be launched a few months later (for marketing reasons(:)

  3. Hi, Just returned from Changchun from some other dealings. And heard they are using 211 hp engine used in the VW Audi group parts bin. but its not confirmed as I was they on a different matter.
