Beijing Auto Huansu S3 launched on the China car market

The Beijing Auto Huansu S3 has been launched on the China car market. Beijing Auto couldn’t wait for the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, apparently afraid nobody would notice the Huansu during all that automotive violence. Price starts at 61.800 yuan and ends at 72.800 yuan.

The seven-seat Huansu S3 & and its five-seat sister Huansu S2 are manufactured by Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile, a joint venture between the Beijing Auto (Beiqi) and the Yinxiang Motorcycle Group.

Huansu means ‘Magic Speed’. Power comes from a 1.5 with 113hp and 150nm or a 1.8 with 140hp and 180nm, both mated to a 5-speed manual sending horses to the front wheels. An automatic and a 4WD variant will be launched at a later time.

Design slightly less funky than S2 but somehow more balanced. The Huansu S2 doesn’t have much competition as seven-seats SUV’s are very rare in this segment. The only thing that comes close is the FAW Senya S80.

Note rear-window line. That indeed, is funky.

The 1.5.
