This is the new JAC iEV5 EV, seen here on a JAC dealer day. The JAC iEV5 will debut on the 2014 Beijing Auto Show next month and will launch on the China car market in the second half of 2014. Top speed will be 120km/h and range will be 200 km.

Price will start around 200.000 yuan, but green-car subsidies will bring that down to about 130.000 at the dealer. The JAC iEV5 will be positioned above the recently launched JAC iEV4, which has a top speed of 95 km/h and a range of 160 kilometer.

JAC is so far the only Chinese automaker that is offering two full-electric cars in its passenger car line-up. Even better known BYD only got one, and most of the others got exactly zero.

  1. actually there are at least 20 pure electric vehicles on regular sales in China from several automakers. The problem is that those cars are mostly sold locally as for a unclear policy they are only allowed to receive the incentives only in the city where they are manufactured .
Purchase an EV in China if not manufactured in the city where you live, is difficult but not impossible. If you will contact with the sales department of the automaker that prodiuce the EV that you like , they will give you the instruction how to buy it , incuding also the incentives.
