The first Spy Shots of the upcoming Chery Arrizo 3 EV, an electric car from China based on the Chery Arrizo 3 sedan. The Arrizo 3 EV, designated A16EV, will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April and launch on the Chinese car market in the second half of the year.

The Chery Arrizo 3 EV will be powered by an electric motor with about 125hp. Range will be 260 kilometer in standard mode and 300 kilometer in an ‘economic mode’. No numbers yet on top speed or charging times. Price will start just under 100.000 yuan ($16.000) including all green-energy subsidies.

The petrol-powered Chery Arrizo 3. Price starts at 53.900 and ends at 75.900 yuan. Lone engine is a 1.5 liter four-cylinder with 122hp and 140nm, mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. Size: 4458/1755/1493mm, wheelbase is 2572mm.

  1. Chery didn’t make much of a showing in 2014 EV sales. Even little Zotye far outpaced her. So now is the time for her to put aside the distractions of the JLR, Qoros and GAC ventures, and begin to catch up with the EV leaders.

  2. 300 km range at a cost of only 100.000 RMB this car will be a great success in the market and a true response to many EV that will be lunch in the next months with a very low range and high price.
    With QQE and this new Arrizo EV Chery will definitely became a leader of the battery operated cars in China

    • I find that very optimistic. Chery as a brand is pretty lowly-regarded not just in China, but in the rest of the world as well. This’s heavily due to the perceived quality and reliability of the vehicles it sells to the mass market. I am not saying that Chery could not become a leader in the EV movement in China but I find that very unlikely that such negative brand perception would change in the short run.
