First Photos of the Zotye E200 EV for the Shanghai Auto Show

The first photos of the new Zotye E200 EV, a new electric vehicle for the Chinese car market. The Zotye E200 EV will officially debut tomorrow on the Shanghai Auto Show. Design is hip enough for an electric city kinda car, although those wheels are just too small.

The Zotye E200 EV is powered by an electric motor with an output of 24hp and 82nm, good for an 80 km/h top speed and a range of 120 kilometer. The E200 EV will be launched on the Chinese car market in the second half of the year. Price will start somewhere around 70.000 yuan, including subsidies.

A nice EV but strangely with very poor performance to be a new model. The QQ e that will be the main competitor and already in the market since one year has 200km range, 100 km/h max speed, and the price after subsidies start from 58.000 rmb.
How Zotye think to sell this car ? It could be interestingto doublecheck all the info about this new EV…there is something that does not make sense…

    “..four-door version of the already-famous Zotye E01.”

Is the E01 famous already? Your previously shown rendering of it displays a quite different body design than this four door.
Top speed would put this in the LSEV category, no?

Check! It is a different car than the E01. I changed the article, thank you.

The 80 kilometer top speed means it can legally drive on the highway, thus not an LSEV, but a ‘real’ electric car eligible for subsidies. Top speed of LSEV’s usually tops around 45 km/h.
