The facelifted Chery Tigg0 5 has been launched on the Chinese car market. Price starts at 89.900 yuan and ends at 150.900 yuan. The facelift includes a new grille, new headlights, new taillights, new bumpers, and an updated interior.

It all seems to work very well; the popular Tiggo 5 looks good enough again for 2015, and will likely remain on the market for at least two more years before it will be replaced by an all-new Five.

Brown is a popular color in China today and Chery goes along. Chrome strip around the windows, one on the lower doors, and one on the rear bumper. New alloys very sporty.

The facelifted Chery Tiggo 5 is available with two four-cylinder petrol engines: a 139hp 2.0 mated to a five-speed manual or a CVT, and a 152hp 1.5 turbo mated to a five-speed manual. The latter is the best engine for the car but there is no CVT or automatic option.

Chery’s interiors are improving. Still a bit dark in here but the materials are good and the red stitching is nice. Instrument panel and 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system are new.

The system comes with sat-nav, music, radio, a 20 GB hard disk, telephone, and smartphone connectivity.

Pipes very nicely integrated in skid pad below the bumper, chrome strip connecting the rear lights that are just small enough to be fashionable. Roof rails usable as always on any Tiggo.
