BMW 3Li debuts at the Beijing Auto Show

The new BMW 3Li debuted at the Beijing Auto Show, the 3Li is stretched by 110mm in the middle for more space in the back, so the owner can be chauffeured around. It will available as 320Li, 328Li and 335Li when it hits the China car market in the second half of this year.

The Geely Englon SX6 is a new concept that previews a cool urban sporty small SUV that might see production in the future. A Geely booth-person said 2015 but they always say that, we”’ believe it when we see the first spy shots. The Englon SX6 has a huge grille and stands on the same platform as the Englon SC7-RS and Englon SC&-RV concept cars. Yez indeed, Geely has concept-car families.
New BYD F3 debuts at the Beijing Auto Show

This is the new BYD F3 ‘Su Rui’, it debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The F3 has been BYD’s best-seller for many years and it even topped China’s car sales chart for a couple of months in 2010. The new F3 is design-wise slightly better than the old BYD F3 which was a copy of the old Toyota Corolla, the new F3 is a copy of the new Corolla but slightly less obvious. For BYD, we call that a huge improvement!

The Range Rover Evoque ‘Special Edition with Victoria Beckham’, to use its full name, debuted at the Beijing Auto Show to great acclaim of wealthy Chinese SUV buyers. And wealthy they must be, the Victoria will cost almost twice as much as a regular Evoque. But special it is, only 200 will be made and one Range Rover booth-person told me that at least 75% would go straight to the Chinese car market.
Chery Riich G2 debuts at the Beijing Auto Show

The Chery Riich G2 hatchback debuted at the Beijing Auto Show, Chery is also working on a sedan-version but that one will debut later, likely at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December. The Riich G2 will be listed on the Chinese car market in July, price will start around 60.000 yuan.

The Audi RS Q3 concept debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The real thing will hit the market before the end of this year. The most powerful Q3 will be sold on the Chinese car market, China loves fast SUV’s, but it won’t be made in China. Audi will make the standard Q3′s in China at the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture, production will start late this year or early 2013.
Dongfeng-Honda Ciimo debuts at the Beijing Auto Show

The Dongfeng-Honda Ciimo debuted at the Beijing Auto Show and was listed on the Chinese car market at the same time. Ciimo is a sub-brand from the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture, their first car is based on the old Honda Civic and simply called ‘Ciimo’. The line-up will later be expanded with a Ciimo SUV based on the old Honda CR-V.

The BYD-Daimler Denza NEV debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. NEV means: New Energy Vehicle. BYD-Daimler is a new joint venture that will make electric cars for the Chinese car market. The Denza EV is their first car, the Denza-name will eventually become a brand with several more electric cars. Now!, look at the tall man standing at the Denza’s door. Who is that?
Honda Concept C & Concept S debut at the Beijing Auto Show – Live Pics

The Honda Concept S and Concept C (pic) debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. Both cars were designed by Honda in Japan but the Concept C had a Guangzhou-Honda badge on the back, and the Concept S a Dongfeng-Honda badge. Those are Honda’s two joint-ventures in China, and both cars are intended for the Chinese car market and other upcoming markets in Asia.
