On a recent tuning show I came across an impressive collection of rare Audi rally and road cars. Most of these cars arrived in China with the 2015 Hong Kong to Beijing Rally, and somehow never left. The rally was sponsored by Audi China and by FAW-Volkswagen, the joint venture that makes various Audis and Volkswagens for the Chinese market.
Spectacular Spy Shots showing the all new 2017 Audi A5 Sportback testing in China. The new Sportback will be launched in the fall and hit the market early next year. The car is heavily camouflaged but we can see a new design for the hatch and the rear deck, for the lights, and for the bumper.
An extremely rare and racy pickup truck based on the China-made C6 Audi A6L, Spotted in China on a car market in east Beijing. The vehicle was a bit dusty but otherwise in a good condition. It was formerly owned by a nearby Audi dealer, when this dealer closed due to a nasty bankruptcy the car was sold to a small repair shop and there it stands today.
A very off road-ish Audi A6 Allroad Quattro, Spotted in China in the Wangjing District in Beijing. The good Audi was in super shape, painted in silver with the typical big black bumpers and black wheel arches. It was perfectly maintained and completely original, up until the five-spoke alloys.
An ultra hip Audi A1, Spotted in China on a busy street in Beijing. The good Audi is wrapped is two wraps: a shiny Pink one for the lower body and a carbon black one for the upper body, making for a great combination of colors. Only letdown are the standard wheel covers, something shiny or black would have been better.
An elegant Audi A6L, Spotted in China on a parking lot on a sunny day in Beijing. The good Audi is wrapped is an eye smoothing matte blue wrap, and further dressed up with an extra shiny grille, darkened windows, and sporty wheels with five-spoke silver black alloys.
This gray beauty is the new Audi TT RS, the most powerful TT so far, it debuted on the 2016 Beijing Auto Show and will hit international markets soon. The RS is dressed up with silver mirrors, silver winglets in the bumper, a front and rear splitter, extra wide wheel arches, and a proper big wing on the back.
The new Audi A4L debuted today on the Beijing Auto Show, with the new big grille, the lightning-lights, and Audi’s ‘digital cockpit’ dashboard architecture. The Audi A4L is a China-only stretched variant of the Audi A4, it will be launched on the Chinese car market in July.
A great gray Audi TT Coupe, Spotted in China on a parking lot on a compound in Beijing. The good old Au’ was in great shape, clean and mean, no rot or rust, and mostly original bar for the slightly too-small wheels and after-market alloys. Lower part of the bumper was loose in the right side.
