Here we have a very nice old pic from a very sexy lady on a police equipment show in China with a Hyundai Sonata police car. It is 2002 and the first China-made Sonata is just launched on the Chinese car market, based on the facelifted 4th generation model.

We saw the spy shot and now got it confirmed; Hyundai will bring the i40 to China as an import, it will debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show it will be listed in that same month. The i40 will be distributed by the Beijing-Hyundai dealer network.

The new Hyundai Elantra, known as Avante in some markets, will be listed on the China car market in July next year, debut is expected at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Whether it will be called ‘Elantra’ or something like ‘New Elantra’ is yet unsure, Hyundai might decide for ‘New’ because they still sell another two Elantra’s on the Chinese market which will continue even as the new one comes around, all are made in China by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture.

The Hyundai i40 wagon has been spotted testing in China. It will be listed on the Chinese car market in early next year, debut likely at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The i40 will be imported, there are no plans yet for local production. Distribution will go via the Beijing-Hyundai dealer-network. Via: 163.com.

Shouwang is the name of the new sub-brand from the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture. They will make cheap and green cars. This BHCD-1 is the first concept car from Shouwang, it is said to look like the next-gen Hyundai Equus which makes it kinda relevant.

Shouwang is the name of the new sub-brand from the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture. They will make cheap and green cars. This BHCD-1 is the first concept car from Shouwang. It loox very cool indeed but the real thing will likely look much worse and will likely be based on an old Hyundai Elantra.

Great for catching criminals, if they are on horseback. A very neat Toyota Prius police car seen on Tiananmen Square in Beijing. This last gen Prius was made in China by the FAW-Toyota joint venture. It didn’t sell so Toyota decided not to make the current Prius in China. At least for now, that is, things might change if China officially announces its new green energy policy for the automotive industry. Many car makers hope for large subsidies. The policy is still a very big secret which usually means the political bosses don’t agree on something.
Beijing Hyundai to recall nearly 10,000 cars

Beijing Hyundai Motor started to recall 9,280 MoInca [last gen Sonata] vehicles over defective engines on Wednesday, China’s quality watchdog said.
MoInca-model vehicles produced between August 1 and October 31 last year will be recalled, according to a statement posted on the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China’s website.
New Hyundai Elantra to be listed in China late next year

The new Hyundai Elantra will be listed on the Chinese auto market late last year, debut is expected at the 2012 Guangzhou Auto Show next December, it will be made by the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture. It will not be called ‘Elantra’ because the two other Elantra’s that the joint venture makes will continue. Engine at launch will be the new 1.6 turbo with 153kw and 265nm.
