Spy Shots: new Ford Mondeo gets Ready for the Chinese auto market

New spy shots from the new Ford Mondeo in China. It will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2013 and hit the Chinese auto market soon thereafter. The Mondeo, known as Fusion in the US, will be made in China by the Chang’an-Ford joint venture, just like the current Mondeo that is still available at the moment.
Chengdu Auto Show: China-made Ford Kuga has arrived

We have seen zillions of spy shots but now it is finally here, the China-made Ford Kuga officially debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show. Mass production of the Kuga at the Chang’an-Ford joint venture will start in November and it will be launched in early 2013. There will be two engines; 1.6 and 2.0, mated to a six-speed tiptronic. We know there will be at least three versions available: the base Kuga, a sporty S and the luxurious Ghia. Price is still a well-kept secret but we think it will start around 180.000 yuan.
Ford Focus is very Pink in China

Late Sunday night here in the great city of Urumqi in the far west of China. I ate lamb all day and got a long day to go tomorrow. Time so for some Pink from back home Beijing! Here we have a kinky last-gen Ford Focus in matte-pink, further made pretty by white alloys, a black roof and weird mirrors. We know a good combination when we see one.
Ford Fiesta in yellow & black in China

Here we have a retecool Ford Fiesta in yellow & black, seen on a very rainy day in the great city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province. The yellow stuff is painted, the black is wrapped. Great combo we think and as far as we know the first such in China.
Ford Ecosport is in Production in China

New spy shots of the Ford Ecosport show a long line of vehicles near the factory, meaning that production of the Ecosport in China has started. The Ford Ecosport is made in China by the Chang’an-Ford joint venture, it will be luanched on the China car market in early 2013, debut is expected at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November.
Ford Focus is lime-green in China

A very fine lime-green last-gen Ford Focus in China, seen on the parking lot near the Auto Tuning Car Show in Beijing. Yezzz, the parking lots are often much better than the actual show! This good green Ford is further sexed up by a body kit, a matte-black roof, matte-black racing stripes, matte-black mirrors and matte-blacked-out alloys. How fine!, more at the back:
Ford wants to sell Cheap Cars in China

Instead of bringing in Lincolns and Mustangs as soon as possible to cash in on the ever growing group of wealthy Chinese car buyers Ford has decided to go for cheap cars in the countryside, where China’s local car makers rule like the emperor. Not easy… Reuters reports:
[] Joe Hinrichs, chief of Ford’s Asian operations, has a solution for the automaker’s minnow status in China: Sell cheap cars in China’s backwaters. “If you want to become a volume leader in the world, you’ll have to compete at the lower price points because that’s where the growth is”.

New spy shots from the facelifted Ford Fiesta testing in China, it will be launched on the China auto market late this year, debut is expected at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November. The facelift included a completely redesigned front, some smaller changes at the back and an updated interior.

The very first spy shots of the Ford Kuga S testing in China. Production of the Kuga at the Chang’an-Ford joint venture will start in November and it will be launched in early 2013. We have already seen the base car and the Ghia but the Kuga S is new. As the S indicates it will be a sporty Kuga, hanging somewhere in the middle of the line-up.
