China-made Mazda CX-5 will hit the Chinese car market in August

The China-made Mazda CX-5 will be launched on the Chinese car market in August with pre-sales to start in June. The Mazda CX-5 will be made in China by the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture. The Mazda CX-5 is currently imported into China with price starting 233.800 yuan. Price of the locally produced CX-5 will start just under 200.000 yuan.
Mazda China sales Down 25.2% in March

Mazda Motor Corp and its joint ventures in China sold 15,734 cars in the country in March, down 25.2 percent from a year earlier, the Japanese automaker said on Wednesday. That compares with a 24.7 percent fall in February, though those figures take account the week-long Spring Festival holiday.

Mazda said it sold 19,068 cars in China in January, down 16.1 percent from a year earlier. That shows an improvement from December when sales fell 26.4 percent compared with a year earlier.

Mazda sales in China down 12.9% in 2012

Mazda’s 2012 sales in China fell 12.9 percent from the previous year to 187,087 units, the company announced. Mazda sold 17,273 cars in China in December, down 26.4 percent from a year earlier, as Chinese consumers continue to shun Japanese cars amid a lingering territorial row between the two Asian neighbors.
The pace of the fall in December slowed a bit from a drop of nearly 30 percent in November and 45 percent in October. Via: Reuters.

Japan’s Mazda Motor Corp said on Monday it sold 12,187 cars in China in November, down 29.7 percent on a year earlier, as Japanese car makers continue to suffer from the fallout of the anti-Japan sentiment that flared up following a territorial row between the two countries. The nearly 30-percent fall last month compares with a decline of 45 percent in October.
