The new Mazda 3 sedan debuted at the 2011 Chengdu Auto Show. The 3 has been listed immediately, price starts at 112.800 yuan and ends at 153.800 yuan. The Mazda 3 is made in China by the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture.

Mazda CX-5 to be made in China

The upcoming Mazda CX-5, which will look a lot like the pictured Minagi concept, will be made in China by the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture. Production starts sometime late 2012 and the CX-5 will be listed in early 2013. Chang’an-Mazda aims at a neat 200.000 yuan for the cheapest car in the range. Engines: 2.0 or 2.5, 4×2 or 4×4. Competition comes from cars such as the FAW-Toyota RAV4 and the Dongfeng-Honda CR-V.

Japanese automaker Mazda Motor and its Chinese joint venture Chang’an Ford Mazda will recall 94,874 Mazda3 vehicles starting Thursday over defective windshield wipers, China’s consumer quality watchdog said on Wednesday.

Chang’an-Mazda to launch sub brand in China

The Chang’an-Mazda joint venture will launch its own sub brand in 2013 to comply with the ‘wishes’ of the Chinese government. The first car of the new sub brand will be based on the old Mazda 3 that was made by the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture.

The Chinese government considers these sub brands as ‘Chinese-Chinese’ meaning that all IP will be Chinese. That is why Honda uses and old Fit for the Everus sub brand and Mazda this old 3. The name of the Chang’an-Mazda sub brand is yet unknown.

Mazda to increase dealer network in China by 20%

Via Reuters. Mazda Motor Corp will expand its dealership network in China by 20 percent this year to take advantage of a growing auto market and lay the groundwork for the planned release of the Mazda3 sedan there in the October-December quarter, the Nikkei business daily said.

Mazda CX-5 SUV to Come to China

Mazda’s new CX-5 will be revealed at September’s Frankfurt motor show and go on sale in early 2012. It will come to China as an import, distributed trough the Chang’an-Mazda dealer network. The CX-5 is expected to arrive in China sometime around March next year.
