The new Suzuki SX4 will debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show next week. The SX4 got a brand-new front with a big chrome grille, exactly how the Chinese market likes it. Overall, the SX4 now loox more like a cool crossover-thingy. The new SX4 will be listed early next year.

New Suzuki Swift testing in China

The new Suzuki Swift has been seen testing in China. The current Swift is made by the Chan’an-Suzuki joint venture. The car in the spy shot however does nog have the jv’s logo on the back, just ‘Suzuki’. This likely means this Swift is a made-in-Japan example brought to China for some road testing, and not a made-in-China. This again means China will have to wait a little longer for the new Swift to arrive at the dealers.

Armored Car against Taxi in China

An interesting crash somewhere in Chongqing Municipality. The players: one yellow Chang’an-Suzuki Swift taxi and a Type 092 armored fighting vehicle. The damage seems not too bad although the little Swift is standing a little strange on its wheels. The driver escaped with minor injuries. The Chang’an-Suzuki factory is in the suburbs of Chongqing, they still make the old Swift for the more rural parts of China.

Suzuki SX4 goes Cheaper in China

The Suzuki SX4 is made in China by the Chang’an-Suzuki joint venture. Suzuki listed a new entry-level car, called the ‘Comfort’. It is basically an SX4 with less goodies, some things that are removed: the alloy wheels (Comfort gets steel wheels), the electric windows in the back, the electric mirrors, the fancy stereo and… the cigarette lighter. The Comfort costs 85.800 yuan for the manual transmission and 97.300 for the automatic. Rest of the range, with cigarette lighter, starts at 108.800 yuan.

Facelifted Suzuki SX4 sedan from China

The SX4 sedan is made in China by Suzuki’s joint venture with Chang’an Automotive. It is selling well but not as good at Suzuki would like. The facelift needs to bring sales up with a more luxurious look and better materials in the in terior. The look part seems all right, it got a lot more chrome which indeed makes it look a bit more expensive. Price then: starts at 79.800 and ends at 123.800. Engines 1.6 or 1.8, manual or auto.

Guangzhou Auto Show Preview: facelifted Suzuki SX4

Chang’an-Suzuki brings the facelifted SX4 to the Guangzhou Auto Show. The SX4 got a new front, some changes at the back and a half-new interior. All changes make the SX4 look more mature but not necesarry look better. Suzuki tries to differentiate the car from the Swift, many see the SX4 as a ‘Swift-sedan’. The SX4 comes with 1.6 and 1.8 litre engines, price starts around 80.000 yuan and ends around 130.000 yuan.

Chang’an-Suzuki makes Suzuki’s for the Chinese markets. They make the Alto, the SX4 and the Swift. But they also still make the old Swift sedan, called Antelope in China. That car, just got a facelift.

Chang’an-Suzuki Alto ‘Cool’ Edition

Chang’an-Suzuki brings on a new edition of the Alto, called the ‘Cool’. It is a sporty machine with a full bodykit and a more funky interior. Engine is the same 1.0 as in the normal car so the Cool will be slower thanks to all the extra plastic. But who cares, a bodykit is cool.

A hard working man from the city of Chengdu made himself his dreamcar: a Chang’an-Suzuki Alto 4-door convertible. The engine is modified too, the man claims it can now accelerate faster than “a BMW”.
