The new Suzuki Swift has been seen testing in China. The current Swift is made by the Chan’an-Suzuki joint venture. The car in the spy shot however does nog have the jv’s logo on the back, just ‘Suzuki’. This likely means this Swift is a made-in-Japan example brought to China for some road testing, and not a made-in-China. This again means China will have to wait a little longer for the new Swift to arrive at the dealers.

An interesting crash somewhere in Chongqing Municipality. The players: one yellow Chang’an-Suzuki Swift taxi and a Type 092 armored fighting vehicle. The damage seems not too bad although the little Swift is standing a little strange on its wheels. The driver escaped with minor injuries. The Chang’an-Suzuki factory is in the suburbs of Chongqing, they still make the old Swift for the more rural parts of China.

The SX4 sedan is made in China by Suzuki’s joint venture with Chang’an Automotive. It is selling well but not as good at Suzuki would like. The facelift needs to bring sales up with a more luxurious look and better materials in the in terior. The look part seems all right, it got a lot more chrome which indeed makes it look a bit more expensive. Price then: starts at 79.800 and ends at 123.800. Engines 1.6 or 1.8, manual or auto.

Chang’an-Suzuki brings on a new edition of the Alto, called the ‘Cool’. It is a sporty machine with a full bodykit and a more funky interior. Engine is the same 1.0 as in the normal car so the Cool will be slower thanks to all the extra plastic. But who cares, a bodykit is cool.
