Patent Applied: Nissan Serena to be Made in China

Nissan will bring the Serena MPV to China. It will be made by Zhengzhou-Nissan, a subsidiary of the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. Zhengzhou-Nissan makes, among others, the Paladin SUV and the NV200 MPV. Production of the Serena will start in 2012.

Nissan Murano to be Made in China

The Nissan Murano will be made in China, it will hit the market in October this year. The Murano will be made by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. Engine: 3.5 V6 mated to a CVT. The Murano will do battle in the very competitive high-end SUV market in China and it has an edge; most SUV’s from the competition are yet imported and so much more expensive.

Qichen, Venucia in English, is a new brand from the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, aimed at the cheap end of the market. Qichen was the laugh of the 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show when the brand debuted half a concept car. They only got the front, the back wasn’t finished yet. Well, did they look stupid!

Shanghai Auto Show: new Dongfeng-Nissan Tiida

Another world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show; the new Nissan Tiida. It will be made in China by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. The new Tiida gets a very hot 1.6 turbocharged engine from the Nissan Juke with a healthy 190hp. It will be listed in China in May, price to start around 90.000 yuan.

Qichen, Venucia in English, is a new brand from the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture, aimed at the cheap end of the market. Qichen was the laugh of the 2010 Guangzhou Auto Show when the brand debuted half a concept car. They only got the front, the back wasn’t finished yet.

Boy, did they look stupid! They did indeed so the designers went back to work and managed to create a new Qichen concept, with a behind. Great work. The new Qichen concept will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month, without an interior or engine, that’s something for the next show(s).

Spy Shot: Nissan Tiida to get a Turbo in China

Nissan is working on a hot version of the Tiida with the 190hp turbocharged engine from the Juke under the bonnet. The Tiida gets a facelift too, all we can see from this pic are the new rear lights and much more chrome. Chrome is Glorious. Nissan’s sales rose 36% in China in 2010, Exceed U.S.

Nissan Motor Co., the largest Japanese automaker in China, said its sales in the nation rose 36 percent last year to 1.023 million vehicles amid increased demand for its Teana sedans and Tiida compacts.

The automaker’s sales in China, which include deliveries by its Infiniti brand, outstripped those in the U.S. and Japan for the first time, Yokohama-based Nissan said in an e-mailed statement today. It aims to sell 1.15 million vehicles in China this year, it said. Read more »
