Rendering: Peugeot 308 sedan for China

Peugeot is working of a 308 sedan especially for the Chinese market. Earlier spy shots revealed that the front loox remarkably different compared the the European 308. This new rendering, made by one Chinese car news website, confirms that and shows a part of the back with a very interesting shoulder line.  The 308 is made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroen (aka Dongfeng-PSA) joint venture. The 308 sedan is expected to debut near the end of this year.

Facelifted Peugeot 207 in the Showroom in China

Only two days ago we had the very first spy shots of the facelifted Peugeot 207 for the Chinese car market. The French know how to keep a secret, the facelifted hatchback arrived at dealers yesterday. No sign yet of the 207 sedan but it will likely follow soon. The Peugeot 207 is made in China by the Donfgeng-Peugeot-Citroën joint venture.

The good old Peugeot 207 still soldiers on. It is made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën joint venture, aka Dongfeng-PSA. The facelifted car gets a new color scheme for the grille, a slightly improved interior and new lights at the back.

Peugeot 6008 SUV for China, to rival Audi Q7

Peugeot was impressed by response to the SXC Crossover concept that debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show. The SXC was designed in China by a Chinese design team. Peugeot now decided to develop a new full size SUV concept for the 2011 Beijng Auto Show. That car is a preview for a real big Peugeot SUV, likely called the 6008. It’ll be over 5 metres long and aimed straight at the Audi Q7 which is very succesful in China. Engines: 3.0 V6 and a hybrid. Most Q7′s sold in China are V8′s, there is no sign yet Peugeot is developing one for the 6008.

The Peugeot 308 sedan is almost ready for the Chinese market. The 308 is made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroen (aka Dongfeng-PSA) joint venture. The 308 sedan has a very different front than the European 308. Many Chinese however still prefer sedans so Peugeot will make just that especially for China.

Shanghai Auto Show: Peugeot SXC Concept

The Peugeot SXC Concept is designed in China by a Chinese design team. No word yet on production but Peugeot does indeed not have an SUV on sale in China. The Mitsubishi Outlander based 5008 might make it to the Chinese market as an import. The SXC is so far just a a design exercise and that it does fine.

Drivetrain: Hybrid4, four wheel drive. Engines: 1.6 patrol with 218hp and 280nm, plus two electric engines with together another 95hp. Size: 4870x2035x1610. Wheels are 22 inch.

The very first live shots of the Peugeot SXC Concept for the Shanghai Auto Show. The SCX is designed in China by Chinese disigners. It is, along with the times, a hybrid. Engines: 1.6 patrol with 218hp and 280nm, plus two electric engines with together another 95hp. Yes!, we believe ll that for sure. Petrol elgine drives the front wheels, electric engines the rear wheels, Peugeot calls this sytem HYbrid4. Size: 4870x2035x1610. Nice looking machine it is, at least from the front, the back ain’t so good…

A stretched Citroën ZX sedan in Nanjing, China

The Citroën ZX was made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën joint venture and was called Fukang. The sedan was called Fukang 988. They made a stretched version up until 2008 with 10 centimeters more in the middle. It was mostly sold to taxi companies like this one I saw today in Nanjing, actually I saw many around. The ZX sedan / Fukang 988 is by la way still alive, now called very French c-Elysée and it will be around for a while…

China-made Peugeot 508

Peugeot couldn’t wait until the Shanghai Auto Show and released the first pics, that is, only 3 of ‘m. The 508 will be made in China by the Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën joint venture, aka Dongfeng-PSA. Engines: 2.0 and 2.3, mated to a six-speed auto or 5-speed manual. Price will start around 160.000 yuan.
