(recent) History: the Geely Pride SRV

Here we have a very funny car that was waiting for a story. Car in case is the Geely Pride SRV wagon, based on the Geely Pride hatchback. The Pride, called ‘Haoqing’ in China, was made from 1998 until 2007. The Pride SRV joined the party in 2002.
Geely GLEagle GC7 to be listed in China in H1

The new Geely GLEagle GC7 was expected to hit the Chinese car market in December last year but it didn’t happen, the GC7 has now been delayed to an unspecific ‘first half’ of this year. Debut of the production version is scheduled for the Beijing Auto Show in April. Price will range from 70.000 yuan to 100.000 yuan. Read more »
Spotted in China: Geely Englon TX4 taxi

Seen on a cold winter day in Beijing, this Geely Englon TX4 taxi. The TX4 is produced by Manganese Bronze Holdings / The London Taxi Company in Great Britain but since 2007 made in China as well, by Geely which sells it under the Englon-brand. Geely has a majority of shares in Manganese. Englon stands for ‘England-London’.
Geely Englon SC5 to be listed & priced in China in April

The Geely Englon SC5 will finally hit the market in April, the production car will debut at the Beijing Auto show, in April as well. Geely already has a dozen small sedans almost the same size, Geely don’t care. The Englon SC5 debuted as a concept car on the 2010 Beijing Auto Show.

These are the very first spy shots of the facelifted Volvo S80L in China, the new car will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in November. As usual with Volvo changes are small, mostly around the grille, head lights and bumper. Still, it does look freshed up a bit.

These are the very first spy shots of the upcoming Geely Emgrand SX7 SUV, it will likely debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. It is almost exactly the same car as the Geely GLEagle GX7 that debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November last year, only the grille and badges are different.

The great pick-up truck makers from China are Greatwall and Zhongxing. Their trucks are affordable, big, basic, easy to run and do fine in a war. Volvo’s 2011 car sales up 20%

Volvo Cars said on Thursday that vehicle sales rose by a fifth last year, putting it on track to remain profitable and making it the fastest growing luxury carmaker.
Best known for its expertise in safety features and traditional emphasis on station wagons like the Volvo V50, Volvo said retail volumes rose 20.3 percent to 449,255 vehicles, its best sales performance since 2007.

The Geely Emgrand EV8 has been around for many many years as a concept car. The full-size MPV will now finally be listed on the China car market early next year. Debut of the production version is expected at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show.
