This is the production version of the Guangzhou-Toyota Leahead i1 EV, a new electric car for China. It was spied earlier today, arriving on a stinking diesel-powered truck for the Guangzhou Auto Show. The i1EV debuted as a concept in Shanghai in April.
Guangzhou Auto will show two new concept cars on the Guangzhou Auto Show, which starts on Friday. First up is the Trumpchi i-Lounge, a full-size MPV with a dramatic grille and a hefty body kit. The i-Lounge previews the Trumpchi GM5 MPV, scheduled to launch on the Chinese car market in late 2016.
The U.S.-based online taxi-hailing service Uber has signed a deal in China to co-operate a fleet of green-energy taxi ‘limousines’ in the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province under the ‘UberGreen’ name. The logistics and drivers will be handled by a local company called ‘Green New Energy Limousine Service’ and the vehicles will be provided by Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile.
