New spy shots of the upcoming Fiat C-Medium, the first Fiat-branded car that will be made by the new Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture. The C-Medium is basically a rebadged Dodge Dart based on Fiat’s C-EVO platform that also underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Earlier this month we heard the C-Medium, a code name, would be called ‘Viaggle’. That however is still unconfirmed to for now I will continue to use C-Medium.

The Fiat-Chrysler group is in intense negotiations with the Guangzhou Automobile Group on a possible joint venture to produce Jeeps in China, for the Chinese market.
Fiat SpA already has established a joint venture with Guangzhou. It is putting the final touches on a new compact for China that will be based on the same architecture as the recently unveiled 2013 Dodge Dart.

The Fiat C-Medium is a new mid-size sedan for the Chinese car market that will be built on Fiat’s C-EVO platform that also underpins the Dodge Dart and Alfa Romeo Giulietta. Above rendering seems based on a Dodge Dart picture but indeed this is what the C-Medium will likely look like. The Fiat C-Medium will be made in China by the Guangzhou Fiat joint venture and will debut in the third quarter of this year.

Mr. Zheng Xiancong, general manager of the Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture, spoke to Chinese media about the upcoming Fiat C-Medium sedan. It will arrive in the third quarter of 2012, it will be based on the modular C-EVO platform that also underpins the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Dodge Dart.

Fiat is working on a new compact sedan for the Chinese market, it will be made in China by the new Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture. The sedan is code-named ‘C-medium’. Chinese media reports that the C-Medium will be based on the upcoming Dodge Dart sedan (pictured) which in turn is based on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta hatchback.

Alfa Romeo debuted as a brand on the Guangzhou Auto Show and they brought… only two cars, and a concept car. Those were the MiTo, the Giulietta and the 4C. Sales have to begin sometime in 2012. Fiat doesn’t have a working joint venture in China, production at the new Guangzhou-Fiat jv is still at least two years away, so all Alfa’s will be imported and therefore expensive. Will the Chinese buy them?

The new Guangzhou-Fiat joint venture is working on its first car which will be listed in August 2012. It is tentatively named ‘C-medium’. It will stand on the same platform as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Lancia Delta.
