The Haima Yao concept debuted last week at the Beijing Auto Show. Haima is wasting no time, the production version has been spotted testing in China for the very first time. The Yao will hit the Chinese car market next year, powered by a 175hp 1.8 turbo mated to a 6-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Price will start around 110.000 yuan. Via: Autohome.

This is the new Haima Yao concept, it debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The Yao previews a new large sedan that will be listed on the China car market in 2014 2013. It will be Haima’s biggest car so far and stands on a new platform that will also underpin an SUV and an MPV.

Design shows some Huyundai influences but not too much, certainly the best looking Haima ever. All current Haima’s are build on old Mazda platforms and Haima sure wants to move up. A bigger car might help especially when cheap. That it will be; price is expected to start around 110.000 yuan, making this a typical ‘big car for little cash’, an often under estimated segment in the Chinese market where brands like Geely and Chery make loads of money.

The Yao is powered by a new 1.8 turbo with 175hp mated to a six-speed automatic, the real thing will get the same engine and likely a naturally aspirated 1.8 as well. Size: 4845/1829/1473, wheelbase is 2800. Good looking machine, bring it on!

Haima Auto has released the first picture of the Haima Yao concept, it will debut at the Beijing Auto Show next week and is not that far from reality. The Yao, it will likely have an English name as well, previews a new large Haima sedan that will be listed on the China car market in a few years. Haima hasn’t said anything yet about the engine (I guess it will be a ‘hybrid’) but did mention two numbers: length is 4845 and wheelbase is 2800, making the Yao the biggest Haima ever. via: Autohome.

Spy shots from the upcoming Haima ZM2 sedan testing in China. The ZM2 is based on the Haima ZM2 Concept that debuted last year. The new car will be listed on the Chinese auto market later this year, debut of the production version is expected at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December.

ZM2 concept. The ZM2 will be made by Zhengzhou Haima, a division of Haima based in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Haima itself is a subsidiary of First Auto Works, FAW.

Haima Auto started as a joint venture between the Hainan provicial government and Mazda to produce Mazda models for sale in China. The agreement lasted 16 years, from 1990 to 2006. In 2006 Hainan-Mazda was taken over by FAW, who consolidated Mazda production in the new joint venture FAW-Mazda. Hainan retained the right to make and sell older Mazda models and self-designed models based on Mazda technology under the newly formed Haima Auto-brand.

Size: 4520/1720/1500mm, wheelbase is 2600mm. Power will come from a 1.5 or a 1.5 turbo, mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Price will range from 80.000 to 110.000 yuan.

The Haima Aishang has been listed & priced on the China car market. Price starts at 35.800 yuan and ends at 45.800 yuan. Cheap as chips as expected, the Aishang will compete with cars such as the Chery QQ Sport, the Chang’an BenBen Mini, the BYD F0 and the Geely Panda.

It’s a nice little car, even without the babes. Power comes from a 1.0 liter 4-cylinder that poops out 75hp and 96nm, good for a 140km/h top speed. Only available transmission is a 5-speed manual.

New spy shots show the final production version of the facelifted Haima Family sedan & hatchback. Both cars will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April and will be listed on the Chinese car market soon thereafter. The Family’s are based on the last-last gen Mazda 3 that was made by the Hainan-Mazda joint venture.

Power comes from a 1.5 with 122hp mated to a five-speed manual or CVT. Price of the current Haima Family sedan ranges from 79.800 yuan to 84.800 yuan, new one will be priced about the same.

Grill and bumper are completely redesigned. Car loox a lot better indeed but can’t really hide its age anymore. The low price has to make it sell, price of the hatchback will start around 70.000 yuan, power comes from the same 1.5.

Interior updated as well with new dials and a new center console.

Haima is working on a new mid-size sedan that will likely be called Haima 5. The new sedan will be the biggest Haima so far and slot above the Haima 3 which is Haima’s biggest now. The Haima 5 is expected to launch later this year which means it will be listed on the Chinese car market in early 2013.

Platform seems to be entirely new. All Haima’s so far are based on old Mazda-platforms from the former Hainan-Mazda joint venture. The JV however didn’t make any car as big as the Haima 5. It could be based on a stretched and widened Haima 3 platform but engineering that is almost as difficult as to start from scratch. Power: 1.8 and 2.0. Haima is also working on new 1.6 supercharged engine which might be used in the Haima 5 as well. Price will start around 120.000 yuan.
