The new MG5 was expected to debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show last November but didn’t make it, debut is now expected at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Spy Shots: Roewe / MG E1 EV testing in China
Published on December 27, 2011 by Tycho de Feyter

The upcoming Roewe / MG E1 has been seen testing again. The full-EV debuted at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo as the Roewe E1 concept.
There is some confusion whether parent-company SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto) will use the Roewe or MG name-plate. My guess is SAIC will actually use both, just like it does with the Roewe 750/MG7, Roewe 550/MG6 and Roewe 350/MG5. The Roewe-version will debut first, possibly as early as on the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show.

The MG5 did not debut, as was expected, at the Guangzhou Auto Show two weeks ago. We did however see some pics of the new car completely naked. Now we take a step back in a way with new spy shots that show the MG5 with a camouflaged front during testing.
Extreme Tuning from China: (old) MG3 SW
Published on December 6, 2011 by Tycho de Feyter

One very fine example of the SIAC-MG3 SW. Lowered down, bigger tires, sporty alloys, painted in matte red, windows in matte black, front spoiler, side skirts, big wheel arches (although not big enough for those maniac rear wheels) and some strange black box on top of the roof rails. We like.

Earlier this month we heard the MG5 would debut on the Guangzhou Auto Show but it didn’t show yesterday. Then we heard it would actually debut today, at the second day of the show. But yet again, the MG5 was a no-show. New news indicates the MG5 will now debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Sorry for the confusion…

Chengdu Auto Show 2011: MG3 Xross
Published on September 17, 2011 by Tycho de Feyter

The MG3 Xross is another new cross-vehicle at the Chengdu Auto Show and again with something funny in the name. Until now we always assumed it would be called ‘XCross’ but instead it is ‘Xross’, the C has gone missing. New name kinda weird, would sound like ksross. MG probably thinks Xross is very cool. Well, the vehicle itself loox cool indeed with huge pieces of grey plastic, black plastic, in bright orange and a massive roof rack to transport the cow you killed while camping in the wild.
