Wuling Baojun 630 is OUT

Wuling Baojun 630

Wuling will start production of the new Baojun mid-size sedan from November 18, just in time for the car’s debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in December. Pre-poruction cars are running of the line already and the car on pic is one of those. It got the new horsehead-logo up front in between the gigantic headlights. The name seems so be sure now, GP50 was the code name; 630 the production name.

Wuling Honghuang mini-mpv Listed and Priced

The new Wuling Honghuang mini-mpv debuted at the Beijing Auto Show and is now listed on da market. Price: from 44.800 to 60.800 yuan. Engines: 1.2 and 1.4. Size: 4305×1680×1750, wheelbase is 2720. Wuling is a three-way jopint venture between Wuling Auto, SAIC (Shanghai Auto) and General Motors.

Baojun is a subbrand of minicarmaker Wuling. Wuling is a joint venture between SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto), General Motors and Wuling Automotive. The new brand is meant for entry level cars, first up is this ‘GP 50′ small sedan,  suv and mpv to follow.

First shots of the interior clearly show the horsehead-logo on the steering wheel, Baojun means ‘Treasured Horse”. The GP50 will hit la market at November 18, to be priced between 50.000 and 80.000 yuan. Power comes from a 1.4, 1.6 likely to arrive later.

Yesterday Sunday the 18th of July saw the official launch of the new Baojun brandname in Shanghai. Baojun is a subbrand of minicarmaker Wuling. Wuling is a joint venture between SAIC (aka Shanghai Auto), General Motors and Wuling Automotive. Wuling’s Sedan to be Branded Baojun

SAIC-GM-Wuling makes minivans and the Chevrolet Spark. SAIC-GM wants Wuling to become an entry-level brand so it needs more cars to sell. Wuling showed a concept sedan called ‘Demo Car’ on a dealer show in 2009, wearing Wuling-badges. But it seems the new sedan will hit la market with a different brand name, not Wuling but Baojun. Info on the logo and name leaked from ‘China Trademark Net’, a website where companies can register trademarks.

SAIC-GM-Wuling GP5 To Be Unveiled at World Expo Shanghai

SAIC-GM-Wuling Automotive is a joint venture between Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC, or simply ‘Shanghai’), GM and Wuling Auto. The company makes minivans and minitrucks, branded ‘Wuling’. The joint venture was set up in 2002 and has been a great succes ever since. The jv also produces the Chevrolet Spark for Shanghai-GM.

Wuling now wants to move up market with this first sedan, codenamed GP5. Wuling decided not to debut the car at the Beijing Auto Show but choose for the World Expo in Shanghai instead. The pictures in this post actually date from a Wuling dealershow in early 2009, the final car won’t look very different. Final date for the GP 5′s debut yet unknown, but the Expo ends at October 1…
