Playing cards on the Road, the Chinese Way
Published on September 4, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Seen on a highway somewhere in China, some brave men playing cards in the back of a truck, and enjoying the game… This kinda way of transporting people is still very common in China, even in the big cities on the east coast. Officially very forbidden but in reality nobody cares. The human cargo is usually used for loading and unloading the actual transported goods and for that they just travel along… Via: MOP.
Cadillac CTS goes Kitch in China
Published on September 4, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
When a Cadillac alone is not kitch enough, come to China, where they can make things much worse. This is a fine Cadillac CTS made prettier with a lotta plastic ‘crystals’. For China, this is actually subtle, see for example this SRX. Still, hyper kitch it is, but it kinda worx on a Caddy.
Spotted in China: Buick Regal in matte-black
Published on September 3, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Here we have a very matte-black Buick Regal, seen on da streets in the great city of Urumqi in Xinjiang Province, where the sky is blue and all eat lamb. The Regal was a surpise because every other car in Urumqi seems to be a gigantic Toyota Land Cruiser, the other being a crappy zillionth-hand Volkswagen Santana taxi. The matte-black was a wrap, skillfully applied over the whole car. Sadly, the wheels & alloys were just standard.
Chengdu Auto Show: Joel Ewanick was Right about Football
Published on September 3, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Back in July all automotive media got red hot about the unexpected and very sudden firing of Joel Ewanick, marketing chief of General Motors. Why exactly he was kicked out remains unclear untill today but rumors say the reason was likely his very expensive soccer deal with Manchester United. GM however signed the deal anyway and new pictures from the Chengdu Auto Show prove Joel was right. A local Chengdu Chevrolet dealer hit the floor with a yellow Chevrolet Camaro with a giant Manchester United sticker on the bonnet.
Chengdu Auto Show: Chery Cowin 1 goes WRC and Fast & Furious
Published on September 3, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Here we have a very sporty Chery Cowin 1, seen on the Chengdu Auto Show. The normally rather boring Cowin 1 comes with a fat-ass body kit and some cool stickers: ‘WRC Auto Sports’ and ‘The Fast and the Furious’. Wheels are sadly standard and that ain’t too good for such a sporty vehicle. Buyers can take it right away from the floor, a local dealer is offering the package for 36.000 yuan and that is very cheap.
Chengdu Auto Show: Chang’an BenBen Mini goes British
Published on September 3, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Chang’an Automotive didn’t have much real news for the Chengdu Auto Show, but they did bring a sporty version of the Chang’an BenBen Mini, which is a rather popular Chinese minicar. It is not a production model but all parts can be ordered at the dealer, including this very cool British flag on the roof, much like a BMW Mini indeed…
Chengdu Auto Show: are things getting a bit outta hand in China..?
Published on September 2, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
We are going back to the Chengdu Auto Show once more, and once more again for a kinda pretty babe. Remember the Beijing Auto Show in April? There was a lotta flesh, even so much that the central Chinese government started to complain, saying that things had gone too far. Well, it seems that those ‘Chengduren’ didn’t hear all that!
Earlier on we checked a hottie doing a Citroen C4 and today things go much further with a sorta strange girl doing a Kia Sorento. I must say, if this babe would come my way, I might delay. NSFW but really on a very public auto show in China, with kids and grannies running around and such and such. Kia Girl, Click on Pics for Bigs®:
Volkswagen Scirocco with a fat-ass body kit in China
Published on September 2, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Another fine spot from Beijing, this is a very nasty stealth-gray Volkswagen Scirocco with a fat-ass body kit, seen in the same parking lot as the pink Ford Focus we met earlier today. The body kit brings the Scirocco dangerously close to the road. We very much diggydig the alloys which are painted in almost the same color as the car. Almost.
Ford Focus is very Pink in China
Published on September 2, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Late Sunday night here in the great city of Urumqi in the far west of China. I ate lamb all day and got a long day to go tomorrow. Time so for some Pink from back home Beijing! Here we have a kinky last-gen Ford Focus in matte-pink, further made pretty by white alloys, a black roof and weird mirrors. We know a good combination when we see one.
Police in China impounds a too shiny BMW Z4
Published on August 29, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter
Police in the great city of Shenyang in Liaoning Province impounded a ‘crystal-clad’ BMW Z4 sportsmachine for being too shiny. The crystals, which are actually usually made of plastic, are mixed with paint which was applied on the whole car. We have seen comparable vehicles before. Problem is, this kinda sexy is officially not allowed in China but normally nobody cares. Read more »
