Ford brags it Banned the JAC 4R3 from the Beijing Auto Show

The biggest auto news from China in February was the JAC 4R3, a clone of the iconic Ford F-150. The story was also the biggest ever for this website and kinda made us famous. Yez, I am bragging a bit, but so is Ford.
Bill Coughlin, President and CEO of Ford Global Technologies and Intellectual Property Chief, told to Autoline’s host John McElroy that ford prevented the 43R to appear on the Beijing Auto Show. Well well, ain’t that cool? But is it true?

The JAC Heyue SC coupe debuted today at the Beijing Auto Show. Bad news first: it won’t see production before 2014. Good news: it will see production. Power comes from a 2.3 four-cylinder that poops out 121kw and 217nm, mated to a six-speed DCT. Price is expected to start at 150.000 yuan and that is significantly lower than the 200.000 yuan Chinese media reported earlier.

This is the new JAC Heyue SC Coupe, one of the big surprises of the Beijing Auto Show where it will debut tomorrow. Workers are still working on JAC’s booth and fortunately they forgot to hide the fine sportsmachine. The JAC Heyue SC coupe is design-wise based on the TJ Innova S11 concept car that debuted at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show.

New pictures from the JAC II SUV, it will debut on Monday at the Beijing Auto Show and JAC has done a very poor job hiding it, which wasn’t easy anyway for a car this orange. The JAC SII will be listed on the China car market soon after the show, price is expected to start at 100.000 yuan.

The rumors were true. JAC will indeed launch a spectacular sports car on the Beijing Auto Show. This is the JAC Heyue SC coupe, design-wise based on the TJ Innova S11 concept car that debuted at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show.
The Heyue SC is no concept, it is for real. It will be listed on the China car market this year, price will start from 200.000 yuan. Power comes from a 2.4 with 121kw and 217nm, mated to be 5-speed manual, good for a 205km/h top speed. Best thing: it is rear-wheel drive. This JAC Heyue is the biggest surprise for the Beijing Auto Show up until now, and a fine one it is.

We end today’s coverage of the China auto industry with an interesting story that popped up on the Chinese interwebs today. This fine yellow sportscar is supposed to be the JAC S11, a concept to debut at the Beijing Auto Show. It loox almost exactly as the TJ Innova S11 concept that debuted at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. TJ Innova is a Chinese design studio based in Shanghai. Did JAC buy the design from TJ Innova for a big marketing-splash?

New pictures from the upcoming JAC SII SUV, aka JAC B-SUV, that will debut at the Beijing Auto Show later this month, it will be listed on the China car market soon after the Beijing show. The JAC SII loox very much like the outgoing Hyundai ix35 and that isn’t a coincidence because JAC makes many cars that are, legally, based on old Hyundai’s.
Police in China stops three trucks, at once

Police in the great city of Suzhou in Anhui Province got busy with this interesting transport. The driver turned out to be the owner of a transport company who bought three brand-new trucks at a local dealer and had to get ‘m home somehow. Unusual truck-transports are fairly common in China but this one was too much, the driver was ordered to undo his masterpiece and find an other way to go. All three trucks are made by JAC, the biggest one is a Kangling. JAC also makes fine pick-up trucks that look like Fords. Pic via Weibo.
Spy Shots: JAC B-SUV is Ready for Beijing

Here we have the first pics of the final production version of the JAC B-SUV, aka JAC SII. The JAC SII will debut next month at the Beijing Auto Show and marks the first ‘modern-style’ SUV for JAC, all its other SUV’s are basically not much more than rebadged old Hyundai’s, with one very notable exception. The SII however will still use Hyundai underpinnings and loox, well.., like a modern Hyundai does. Progress? Sure some.

Yesterday was another party day for CarNewsChina.com, for the first time us little website was quoted on the mighty Detroit News, the newspaper for carpersons working at Ford and GM, and for their families.
The story of course was about the JAC 4R3 Ford F150 clone which we made famous late last month. At this moment, almost 24 hours after it was published, the story is still the Most Popular on DetroitNews. And even better, DetNews actually called Ford to see what they had to say about the 43R.
