Spotted in China: Porsche 968

Here we have a very fine and perfectly maintained Porsche 968, seen by reader Ali Khalili in Shanghai. An interesting find because the 968 was never officially sold in China. It might be an ex-diplomatic car or smuggled in via Hong Kong.

Here we have a very fine Nissan President H250 Sovereign V8E, seemingly abandoned somewhere in China. This is a second-generation President was made by Nissan in Japan from 1973 until 1981. Nissan never sold the President in China officially. The steering wheel of this particular car is on the ‘wrong’ side which is not allowed except when it is imported through diplomatic channels, so this beauty is likely an ex-embassy car that was somehow left behind.

A grey Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 parked in front of a hotel somewhere in Zhejiang Province, see plate: B09990, must have been expensive. Parked next to is a black Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG. The LP640 comes with 631hp and 660nm. China is Lamborghini’s second market worldwide, still, the Italians seem to worry a bit about 2012, these worries however might be crushed under the wheels of the new Lamborghini SUV that will debut at the Beijing Auto Show next month. Three Maybach 62S’ in one Shot in China

The Maybach 62S is a rare beast, seeing one is special enough. Seeing two at the same time is very special but seeing three at the same moment in time is noting less than a miracle. Still, that is exactly what happened to a fortunate photographer in the great city of Yibin in Sichuan Province.

Here we have the maniac Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV parked in an underground parking lot in the great city of Shenzhen in Guangdong Province. This fine yellow Lamborghini lives in exactly the same place as one supercar even more special; the Aston Martin One-77.

A truly bad-ass vehicle from China, this is the mighty Dima DMT5070XFB Armored Personnel Carrier. It is made to stop riots with a bang and to guard ‘places of national interest’, like the Carnewschina.com office towers in Beijing. The DMT5070XFB is made by Chongqing Dima Industry from the great city-province of Chongqing in southern China.

Here we have an extremely rare car from China, this is the 1985 Hongqi CA770G, based on the iconic Hongqi CA770 which was based in the Chrysler Imperial C69/C70. The original CA770 was made from 1966 to 1981, only 847 were made. This Hongqi CA770G however is even more rare, only 25 (!) were made from 1985 until 1988. Instead of a Chrysler engine it had a Ford 5.7 liter V8, good for 154kw and 382nm.

The brilliant Koenigsegg Agera has arrived at FFF Automobile in Beijing, FFF is a supercar-broker that also sells Pagani’s and hyper-SUV’s imported from the USA. This Agera is the very first in China and will go around the auto show circuit before it will be sold, likely for at least 15 million yuan or 2.4 million USD.

Time now for a very strange vehicle from China. This is the Jinan-Fumin ‘Elderly Vehicle’ Elderly as in old people, who can drive this sorta small cars in China without a driving license. This particular example was covered under a thick layer of dust which could mean the elderly in question moved to the big islands in the sky, or to Hainan.
