We have seen the patent-application and here we have the first live spy shots of the JAC Yueyue Cross testing in China. The Yueyue Cross is based on the standard yueyue minicar ans has to appeal to young ‘n cool urban folks. The Yueyue gets a facelift at the same time with a new grille and a huge logo on the bonnet.

The Yueyue Cross has been crossed up with roofrails, slightly bigger tires and some blacked out plastic on the front and at the back. It will be powered by a 99hp 1.3 mated to a 5-speed manual or 5-speed sequential.

Some improvements inside as well, design of the dash very circular, round a’round we go…

The current JAC Yueyue. Price starts at 43.800 yuan and ends at 56.800 yuan. Power comes from a 1.0 with 68hp or the 1.3 with 99hp. Price of the Yueyue Cross will start around 55.000 yuan, it will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

Only 3 days ago we published the first pics of the JAC 4R3 pickup truck which is basically a Ford F150 clone with a much smaller engine. The story went wild all over the world and is now officially our Most Popular Story Ever. Today we have a bunch of new and better pics from the JAC 4R3 pickup truck, taken somewhere near the factory. Yez, this crazy 43R is very real indeed…

Power comes from JAC’s own ‘HFC4DA1-2B1′ 2.8 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, good for 108hp and 240nm. The JAC 43R will likely debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Price is yet unknown but based on similar sized and powered pickup trucks it won’t be much more expensive than some 100.000 yuan or 16.000 USD. Size (unconfirmed): 5030×1720×1735.

GM is getting very serious with its push into India. GM will bring several China-made cars to the car-hungry Indian market. One of those is the Chevrolet Sail sedan, made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture.

The Chinese partner of that joint-venture, SAIC, also has a 50% stake in GM-India. So far we have only seen the Sail sedan, the Sail hatchback might come to India as well.

Another one we are sure about is the Wuling Hong Guang minivan. Wuling is a Chinese three-way joint venture between GM, SAIC and Wuling Automotive. The Hong Guang will also be sold in India under the Chevrolet brand.

Toyota has applied for patent on the new Toyota Prius G’s for the Chinese car market. The G’s is a strangely urban-cool named sporty Prius that is so far only destined for the Japanese market. China will get it too, likely as another try to get the young into hybrids.

The Prius G’s comes with a revamped suspension, a stiffened chassis, tweaked steering and 18-inch lightweight aluminum wheels, all to make the drive more racy. Enginewise however, there are no changes. The Pris is made in China by the FAW-Toyota joint venture, the standard Prius will be listed on the China car market later this month.

Youngman-Lotus has applied for patent on this interesting SUV. We know that Youngman is developing an SUV for the China car market but this one still seems a bit concept-like, probably meant as a ‘teaser-concept’ for the Beijing Auto Show in April.

It loox better from the side. Whether this is the production version or not, sure thing is that the Youngman-Lotus SUV will eventually arrive. Engines: a new 1.5 turbo with 150hp and 210nm, a 1.8 and a 2.0. Price will start around 100.000 yuan and end around 150.000 yuan.

New spy shots from the Ford Kuga testing in China, it will be listed on the Chinese car market later this year. the Kuga is made in China by the Chang’an-Ford joint venture, it will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

There will be two engines: 1.6 turbo and 2.0 turbo, mated to a ‘Powershift’ DCT or six-speed manual. Price of the Kuga will start around 150.000 yuan. The Kuga is an extremely late arrival for the Ford brand, all competitors are making similar sized SUV’s in China for many years. Finding a spot in such a crowded marketplace won’t be easy for the Kuga.

Besturn fans behold! Today we have a shipload of very clear pics from an all naked FAW-Besturn B90. Besturn is a brandname of First Auto Works, FAW. The B90 will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April and seems ready for the market, it is Besturn’s biggest car so far and slots neatly above the B50 and B70 in the line-up. That leaves open B60 and B80 which will likely be SUV-style vehicles.

Impressive grill is still the fashion in China. This kinda symbolizes for the whole country, everything including computers, buildings and girls look great from the outside but are crap within. Just check in any hotel to know what I mean…

The inside of the Besturn B90 might be a bit better than the rest because it is based on the Mazda 6 that is made in China by the FAW-Mazda joint venture. All Besturn-branded cars are based on Mazda’s, Besturn hasn’t designed a single platform on their own. Engines come from Mazda as well: 2.0, 2.3 and 2.5. Price is expected to start around 145.000 yuan for a base 2.0.

Besturn however did design the bodywork and that doesn’t look bad. Kinda fastback-styling with fine looking tail lights, front is well designed as well with mentioned big grille and again fine looking lights.

Inspiration was gone when Besturn had to do the interior, dash basically unchanged from Mazda 6. Materials and all look good enough, some chrome here and there but not too much.

Enough space here for the One Child, but Besturn will need an stretched L-version it they want to tap into executives.

Late last year we saw the first all-naked pics of the upcoming Hongqi C131, the successor of the Hongqi HQ3. Those pics however did not unveil the interior but today we have the first clear pics of the dash and center console. Materials all look good enough for a luxury car and there seems to sit a newly-designed Hongqi-logo on the steering wheel.

The Hongqi C131 is based on the Toyota Crown (13th gen, S200) that is made in China by the FAW-Toyota joint venture, FAW is also the owner of the Hongqi-brand. There will be three engines; two from Toyota that also power the Crown: 2.5 V6 and 3.0 V6. Third engine is a new 2.0 turbo with 145kw and 280nm, developed by FAW.

The Hongqi C131 will debut at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show to compete with cars such as the Audi A6, Mercedes-Benz E-class, BMW 5-series and Volvo S80. After its debut in April production will start late this year, debut on the market is expected for early 2013.

A righ-hand drive Great Wall Haval H5 SUV has been spotted testing in India. This however doesn’t mean Great Wall will officially enter the Indian car market. According to Indianautosblog.com the H5 will be imported by International Cars & Motor Ltd (ICML) and sold under their own brand name. ICML currently manufactures the Rhino, a small ‘n cheap MPV, for the Indian market.

New spy shots from the new Ssangyong Rexton SUV testing on Chinese roads. The new Rexton will debut in South Korea later this year. It will then go to India first to satisfy the new Indian owner Mahindra, it will be made in India from CKD-kits. Late this year it will be listed on the China car market as an import from South Korea.

Chinese media expects the price to start around 200.000 yuan. Whether it will be a success is however doubtful. Ssangyong still doens’t have a decent patrol engine and the new 2.0 turbodiesel simply won’t sell because in many of China’s big cities diesel engines are forbidden.

Spy shots show a neat medium-sized SUV. Well, it can’t be that hard to design something better than the current Rexton II…
