Zotye Auto is going Smart & Tesla with new EV for the Shanghai Auto Show

Zotye Auto has released the first images of the new Zotye E01, a new small two-door electric vehicle that will debut later this month on the Shanghai Auto Show. Zotye is on an electric roll lately, the Zotye Yun E100 EV was launched on October last year, followed by the Zotye E20 EV in November. The E01 will be launched late this year, and there will also be a four-door version which will be called, slightly confusing, the Zotye E02.

The E01 looks like a Smart from the outside, albeit with cooler headlights, and like a Tesla on the inside:

Spotted in China: the Volkswagen Scirocco club

A very sleek Volkswagen Scirocco sporty car, Spotted in China in the Dongba area in far east Beijing. It was one of four cars of members of the Scirocco BJ Auto Fan Club, who were apparently meeting in one of the nearby buildings. Sadly, I couldn’t figure out where exactly, otherwise I could have joined the party for a beer or two.

Great Wall Motors has released the first official images of the new Haval H6 Coupe, ready for its debut on the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show later this month, featuring a new blue Haval badge on the grille. The Haval H6 Coupe is a sporty compact SUV, it is the production version of the Haval Coupe C concept that debuted last year on the Beijing Auto Show.

Changan to launch electric four-door coupe concept on the Shanghai Auto Show

Changan Auto has released the first image of a new electric four-door coupe concept car that will debut on the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show starting on April 20. The concept features two giant air intakes on each side of the bumper, super thin LED headlights, an illuminated Changan logo, and a rounded bonnet in darker black. The concept will be ‘powered’ by an electric motor with an output of 167hp and 335nm, good for 0-100 in 4.12 seconds, or so Changan claims.

The China-made Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV is Ready for the Chinese car market

This is the Mercedes-Benz GLA SUV, the China-made GLA-Class. Mass production has started and the vehicle will have its public debut on the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show that starts on April 20. Launch on the Chinese car market is scheduled for late May. The GLA will compete head-to-head with the locally made Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The Mercedes-Benz GLA and China have a strong connection; the GLA Concept had its worldwide debut on the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show.

Shandong EV Expo in China: the Rodi RD220 Scootercar

This is the mellow-yellow Rodi RD220 Scootercar, seen last month on the Shandong EV Expo (intro) in Jinan City. The Rodi D220 Scootercar is is designed for holiday resorts and features a striking design centered around a steel structure starting at the nose, going up to the roof, en ending down the sides. The vehicle is designed by a fellow Dutchman (Delft!) and the man in charge of production in China hails from Holland as well. May they succeed.

Shandong EV Expo in China: the Xuanyu Xuanlai mini EV

This is the beautiful Xuanyu Xuanlai, a new low-speed electric vehicle (LSEV) from China, seen last month on the Shandong EV Expo (intro) in Jinan City. The Xuanyu Xuanlai is a four-wheel four-door electric mini car, featuring a very shiny Aston Martin Cygnet-style grille, bright burning fog lights, a large blue logo on the bonnet, a huge windscreen with a single wiper, speedy decals on the sides, mirrors bigger than a truck’s, and sporty six-spoke alloys.

BYD has released the first official images of the BYD Yuan and BYD Song, two SUV’s scheduled for debut on the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show that starts on April 20. They are called ‘concept cars’ but they are really very close to reality. The blue car is the BYD Yuan, it is the hybrid variant of the petrol-powered BYD S1 sub-compact SUV.

The Jiangling Motor Corporation, or JMC, has released the first official images of the Yuesheng S330 concept for the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show that starts on April 20. The Yuesheng 330 is a futuristic four-seat SUV, looking very ready for rally racing. JAC says some design elements will come back in a new compact SUV that is currently under development. The front looks interesting with a big black, two angry headlight-eyes, and a small logo-nose. Screaming car!

Futuristic Cars That Will Change Our Highways Forever

In recent years, the automotive industry has faced increasing pressures to produce futuristic designs that meet government safety and fuel economy standards while also satisfying public demand for innovation. Designers are working hard to produce concept cars that try to strike a balance between sporty lines and the engineering requirements needed to meet those new standards. Let’s take a look at several concept cars that offer a glimpse into the near-future of the automobile industry.

Even Italian carmakers with a reputation for power and performance aren’t immune from these trends within the business, and to meet that challenge, Alfa Romeo has built the 4C. It has a 1.7L motor that doesn’t fall short of the expectations for pure muscle power that drivers have. The 4C’s 4-cylinder engine generates an impressive 237 horsepower.

The Alfa Romeo 4C also delivers on styling. It stays true to the company’s brand as a two-seat sports coupe that looks very chic. You shouldn’t expect to see large numbers of the 4C on American highways anytime soon. Alfa Romeo reports that it still has not secured U.S. distribution for the car.
