Pink cars are good and pink cars from China are even better, so today we proudly present a very pink Shanghai-Volkswagen Passat Hello Kitty edition. The once boring car was painted pink, no wrap here, and sexed up further with a load of extra chrome, most notable around the wheel arches and on the door handles. All very nice indeed, but the interior is even better:

Published on February 12, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter

Here we have an extremely rare car from China, this is the 1985 Hongqi CA770G, based on the iconic Hongqi CA770 which was based in the Chrysler Imperial C69/C70. The original CA770 was made from 1966 to 1981, only 847 were made. This Hongqi CA770G however is even more rare, only 25 (!) were made from 1985 until 1988. Instead of a Chrysler engine it had a Ford 5.7 liter V8, good for 154kw and 382nm.

Time now for a very strange vehicle from China. This is the Jinan-Fumin ‘Elderly Vehicle’ Elderly as in old people, who can drive this sorta small cars in China without a driving license. This particular example was covered under a thick layer of dust which could mean the elderly in question moved to the big islands in the sky, or to Hainan.
Spotted in China: a very Pink Suzuki Alto Happy Prince
Published on February 11, 2012 by Tycho de Feyter

Here we have a Suzuki Alto Happy Prince in pink. The Alto Happy Prince was a sporty version of the Suzuki Alto, made in China by the Chang’an-Suzuki joint venture. The Happy Prince had to appeal to young ‘n cool men, offering it in pink was so very much beside the point. Still, that was exactly what Suzuki did… Fortunately not many pinkies were sold, most of ‘m went in cool blue. See for more on this interesting car my earlier post on the Happy Prince.

Another fine catch today in Beijing. This is the Nanjing NJ6400 Encore. The NJ6400 was basically a rebadged and slightly reworked Mk1 Seat Ibiza. Nanjing Yuejin Automobile bought the production line from Seat in 1997, shipped everything to China and restarted production at the Nanjing-Soyat subsidiary.
