The new Mazda CX5 will be made in China, local production at the Chang’an-Mazda joint venture will start in 2013. Until then, for those who really can’t wait, Mazda will offer the CX5 as an import on the Chinese market.

The new Volkswagen Golf Cabrio was spotted somewhere in Beijing. According to our sources the Golf Cabrio will be listed as an import in China in May next year, debut is expected at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Engines: 1.4 and 2.0 TSI. The Chevrolet Orlando has been spotted in China without camouflage, it will be listed in the first half of next year, debut of the China-bound version is expected at the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. At debut the Orlando will only be available with a 1.8 but a 1.6 turbo might follow later. The Orlando will be imported from South Korea where it is made in GM’s former-Daewoo factories. Chery exports up 80% in Jan-Nov period

China’s private carmaker Chery Automobile Co Thursday said its overseas sales in the first 11 months of the year hit a new record with a robust 79.7 percent growth.

The eastern Anhui province-based carmaker sold 149,462 cars overseas in the January-November period, said Jin Gebo, Chery’s spokesman. The annual figure was the highest in the company’s 15-year history.

Volkswagen to build new Factory in Xinjiang, China

Volkswagen AG is planning to build another manufacturing plant in China and discussions about setting up a facility in Xingjiang autonomous region are now at an advanced stage.

A spokesman for Europe’s biggest carmaker said the company is constantly examining the possibility of building another facility in China, where the passenger car market is expected to grow even further.

Dongfeng and Volvo truck plan China joint venture, Dongfeng to make Infiniti cars

Here we have an interesting look into making deals in China. Dongfeng and Volvo (the truck maker) plan a joint venture to make Volvo trucks for the Chinese market. But Dongfeng already has a joint venture with Nissan which makes medium-to-heavy duty trucks that are sold under the Dongfeng-name.
