Beijing Auto B40 & B70 to be listed in China in September

The Beijing Auto B40 and B70 will be listed on the Chinese car market in September, the final production cars will debut at the Beijing Auto Show next month. Beijing Auto Works (BAW) is brand from BAIC, which stands for Beijing Auto Industry Corporation. BAIC is better known simply as ‘Beijing Auto’. The B70 debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show in April and is basically a B40 with two extra doors. The B40 debuted at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show but is still not on the market yet. The B70 shares more than a little line with the good old American Jeep Wrangler.

The Shanghai Auto Show will open its doors in one hour but we already got a first surprise. The Beijing Auto Works B70 is an SUV based on the 3-door B40 SUV that debuted as a concept at the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. The production version of the B40 will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show as well. Engines: 2.0 and 2.5, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, 4×4.
