A very pretty girl looking like a secretary modelling for Beijing Auto, she really liked the new E-series, she was all over smiling. Car show girls are improving their act in recent years in China, but it still ain’t no Japan, where car shows are barely concealed porn parties.

First time for me, to see, the new Citroen C4, called c-Quatre in China. The facelifted c-Quatre was listed on the China car market two weeks ago. Biggest change compared to the old car: a big fat new chrome grill and even more chrome in the bumper. Chinese car buyers like chrome, so Citroen gives.
Eye to Eye with the new MG5

At the Beijing Automobile Trade Show I met my first MG5. A lone white example was parked rather unceremoniously on a small booth, covered with crappy brochures. No spot lights, no pretty babes, MG indeed did a better job in Zhengzhou. Still, a special moment because this was only the second time the MG5 was on show in China, after that Zhengzhou-thing. This first time I saw the new Beijing Auto E-series in da flesh. Beijing Auto brought four brand-new cars to the Beijing Automotive Trade Fair in Beijing and the local Beijing residents seemed to like it very much. And indeed, why not? The E looked very well-made, modern, and even a little bit cool.

Lifan 320 gets sporty in China

The famous Lifan 320 in cherry-red sexed up to be a bit sporty. Some say it loox to much like a Mini, me think a Mini got two doors less. Furthermore, this fine little car costs only 36.500 yuan, including all the sporty stuff such as the low bumper and huge fake air vent under da bonnet.
Porsche Boxter with Lambo-doors from China

A very yellow last-gen Porsche Boxter with Lambo-doors, seen this morning at the ’17th Beijing Automotive Trade Fair’ (link) in the capital. The conversion was done by a local customizing company and this fine car was for sale for a hefty 1.28 million yuan, or 203.000 USD. It was registred in 2001 and has the 3.4 under the bonnet. Lotta money indeed, but a truly special motorcar…

A small local auto show in Beijing, not the Beijing Auto Show 2012 (aka China Auto 2012). The nicely named ’17th Beijing Automotive Trade Fair’ (web) is basically a dealer show sexed up with babes and customizing clubs from around town. Not big, but always good for a few hours of cars.
