BMW is a popular brand in China. Yesterday we had one with Jesus and today we have fiery i8 convertible with flames on the sides and a lot of blue purple lights. If the real i8 was this wild BMW would probably sell more of them. BMW also does not make a cabrio. Mirrors are a tad too big.

The BMW i8 hybrid supercar has been launched on the China car market. Price starts and ends at 1.988 million yuan or 323.000 USD. The BMW i8 is imported into China and is therefore not eligible for any green-car subsidies. The coming of the i8 has been highly anticipated in China, by media and potential buyers alike.

The BMW i8 hybrid sporty car will hit the Chinese car market in September. It will be very expensive. Chinese automotive media report that price will start at 1.98 million yuan and and at 2.18 million yuan. That is $321.000 to $354.000. In the United States price will start at $135.700.

Spectacular spy shots of the BMW i8 and BMW M4 testing in China, seen on a country road in suburban Beijing. The BMW i8 will be launched on the China car market in the second quarter so BMW wants to make sure it behaves well on Chinese roads. Same goes for the BMW M4 which will have its China-debut on the Beijing Auto Show next month and will be launched on the Chinese auto market in the second half of this year.

Earlier on we met it in the suburbs and this time it seems to be in the center of town. The BMW i8 will be launched on the China car market in early 2014 and BMW apparently wants to make sure it behaves well on Chinese roads.
