The new Buick Encore SUV will be launched at the Chinese car market near the end of this year, it will be made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. Price is expected to range between 130.000 and 170.000 yuan. Engines for China: a new 1.4 turbo and the 1.6 Ecotec turbo with 140hp and 200nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic. Spy shots from a facelifted Buick Excelle testing in China. The last facelift for the Excelle, still a strong seller on the Chinese car market, was in 2008. The facelifted car is expected later this year. Most changes are up front, camouflage can’t hide a bigger grill, new light-units and a new bumper.
GM recalls Buick Enclave in China

General Motors will recall 6,365 imported Buick Enclave cars due to their weak windshield wipers, China’s top quality watchdog said on Monday. The cars in question were produced between Jan. 17, 2010 and March 5, 2012, according to a statement released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The Buick Excelle, not to be confused with the Buick Excelle GT and Excelle XT, is another one of those cars that refuses to die in China. The Daewoo-based sedan has been on the market since 2005 and is still going strong, it sold 30.000 units in January. The Chinese car market loves it because it is cheap, reliable and easy to maintain. No wonder GM wants to keep it going for a while, a facelifted Excelle will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April.

The Buick Encore compact SUV debuted yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show. It might be a bit on the small side for America but it will do fine in China where it will be made by the Shanghai-GM joint venture, production will start in about 3 months.

Another one bites the Bling. Here we have a very well blinged Buick Regal, made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture. The wrap is perfectly smooth all over the car and shiny even at night. The car resides somewhere in Beijing and the proud owner s a member of the Beijing Buick Regal club. Yez, in China they have Regal-clubs.
