Spotted in China: first Beijing Auto Shenbao D-Series on the Road

This must be the very first Beijing Auto Shenbao D-Series on the road, seen parked in front of an office building in the Sanlitun embassy district in Beijing. The Beijing Auto Shenbao D-Series debuted as the Beijing Auto C70G on the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. We have seen two variants so far: a base Shenbao D280 and an extra luxurious Shenbao D320 with a different grille. The black car seems to be a D280 but there was no D-badge on the back.

Beijing Auto Shenbao D320 debuts at the Guangzhou Auto Show

The Beijing Auto Shenbao D320 debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, it will be launched on the Chinese auto market early next year. The Shenbao D320 is based on the old Saab 9-5. There will be three engines: a new 1.8 turbo with 174hp, a Saab 2.0 turbo with 206hp and a Saab 2.3 turbo tuned up to 246hp, all mated to a five-speed automatic. Beijing Auto continues to confuse us, but there might be light, at the end of a long tunnel. This fine orange vehicle is the production version of the Beijing Auto C70G that debuted on the Beijing Auto Show in April, it is based on the old Saab 9-5. Back in July we saw the first spy shots of the C70G with a new name on its back: Shenbao D280. This orange vehicle in Guangzhou however is called ‘Shenbao D320′ and comes with a brand-new grille that loox like a wing, likely intentionally.

This is the new Beijing Auto C70G getting a final cleanup before the start of the Beijing Auto Show tomorrow. The Beijing Auto C70G is based on the Saab 9-5 and designed with help from the famous Italian design-house Fioravanti, not Pininfarina as earlier reported.

Finally we have the first pictures of the Beijing Auto C70G, and it loox much better than expected. The B70G is based in the old Saab 9-5 and will debut on Monday at the Beijing Auto Show, it will be listed on the China car market later this year. This particular white example is a C70GB, an electric concept based on the B70G. The exterior and interior however are exactly the same; this is it.
