This is the Beijing Auto Senova C90 EV, based on the Mercedes-Benz E-class L

This is the new Beijing Auto Senova C90 EV concept, it debuted earlier this week on the International  New Energy Vehicle Technology Development Exhibition in the great city of Mianyang in Sichuan Province. The Senova C90 EV is the electric version of the upcoming petrol powered Beijing Auto Senova C90L. The C90 L and C90 EV will be based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class L, a stretched variant of the E-class that is manufactured in China by the Beijing-Benz joint venture.

Beijing Auto C90L will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2014

Beijing Auto has confirmed that the Beijing Auto C90L will be launched on the Chinese car market in 2014. The C90L debuted on the April 2012 Beijing Auto Show. Design of the production car will be a mix of the C90L and the Beijing Auto Concept 900 that debuted on the Shanghai Auto Show last month.

The Beijing Auto C90L will hit the Chinese market in 2014, based on the platform of  the current  Mercedes-Benz E-L Class which is made in China by the Beijing-Benz joint venture. The platform sharing is part of the deal BAIC and Daimler closed last Friday, rumors on the use of the E-Class platform by Beijing Auto first surfaced back in June last year. The brand Beijing Auto is a subsidiary of BAIC, which stands for Beijing Auto Industry Corporation. Read more »

The massive Beijing Auto C90L debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The C90L previews Beijing Auto’s new flagship that will be listed on the China car market in 2013, the C90L will slot above the Saab-based Beijing Auto C70G that also debuted at the Beijing show.
