Cadillac will make three new Cars in China

General Motors Co. will begin to build Cadillacs in China within a year as the automaker works to establish the luxury Cadillac brand globally, according to Joel Ewanick, GM’s global marketing officer. GM is expected to announce April 22 during the Beijing auto show that it will begin to build its all-new large Cadillac sedan, the XTS, later this year in China, according to another source familiar with the company’s plan.

GM has applied for patent in China on the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon, it will be listed as an import on the Chinese car market this year, the China-bound car is expected to debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Cadillac already sells the CTS-V sedan and CTS Coupe in China.

The new Cadillac XTS sedan will debut at the Beijing Auto Show in April. Production will bgegin near the end of the year. Price is expected to start around 400.000 yuan. The XTS stands on an extended Epsillon II platform, a platform that is already used in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture for the Buick Regal, Buick Lacrosse and the Chevrolet Malibu. The XTS has to compete with the locally made BMW 5-series, Benz E-class, Audi A6 and Volvo S80.
GM Chinarecalls 9.862 imported Cadillac SRX

General Motors (GM) of China has decided to recall 9,862 imported Cadillac SRX SUVs due to defective gearboxes, China’s consumer quality watchdog said Wednesday.
The recall targets the 2011 model produced between Feb 2 and June 23, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) said in a statement on its website.

This great piece of art was seen at the Southwestern China International Auto Show in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province. Cadillac SLS 2.0 Turbo listed & priced in China

The Cadillac SLS 2.0 Turbo has been officially listed on the China car market. The engine comes from Opel and is also used, among others, in the Buick Regal/Opel Insignia. The 2.0 Turbo will debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this month.
