New Spy Shots showing the facelifted Honda CR-V for China, it will debut on the Shanghai Auto Show later this month and launch on the Chinese car market soon thereafter. The facelift is all about shiny shiny chrome, the stuff that China loves so much, with a new grille and headlights completely surrounded by a thick chrome edge, and there is even more around the fog lights. Bumper is new too with a low and sporty grey front splitter.

Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co, a 50-50 joint venture between China’s Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Japan’s Honda Motor Company, will recall thousands of CR-V passenger vehicles due to defects in the door lock design, China’s quality watchdog said Thursday.

The new Honda CR-V has been listed on the China car market. Price starts at 193.800 yuan and ends at 262.800 yuan. The CR-V is made in China by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. New spy pics show a dealer-ready example of the new Honda CR-V, made in China by the Dongfeng-Honda joint venture. Next to it stands a brand-new example of the current Honda CR-V which could mean production of the current car will continue for awhile, this is common practice in China and meant for budget-oriented buyers who want to get a still-modern SUV on the cheap.

Honda will launch its new CR-V SUV late this year. Worldwide debut is expected at Los Angeles Auto Show or Tokyo Motor Show. Debut in China will then be at the December Guangzhou Auto Show. Production in Japan and China will start at almost the same time in early 2012. How different than Ford that is!
