Mercedes released two pictures of the new Beijing-Benz E 300L, a special long wheelbase E made in China for China, wheelbase grew by 14 centimetre to compete with the Audi A6L, BMW 530L and Volvo S80L. Engines: 3.0 V6 and the 1.8 four. The 300L will debut on the second pressday of the Beijing Auto Show, that is Saturday April 24.

Beijing-Benz will unveil the China-made E 300L on the Beijing Auto Show in April. Chinese drivers like to be driven, the L’s wheelbase is extended by a whopping 14 centimetre for more space in the back.

Mercedes follows fashion. Audi has an A6L since the year 0, BMW has the 5 series ‘L’ and Volvo the S80L. Audi has a weird looking A4L as well. All cars are made in China especially for the Chinese market. Benz will offer the 3.0 litre V6 first and later likely add the 1.6 turbo four. No word yet on the price, a basic E starts at 400.000 rmb.
